Timber Construction Manual

I’m an Architect, and this was more technical than I expected. I was looking for a resource with diagrams coupled with calculations.

Fantastic reference book! As a structural engineer, I am always looking for books to add to my library and this one is spot on. It was helpful on a recent project where the design of a moment splice was required due to transportation limitations for a glulam frame that I was designing. The information is clear and example problems are presented very well. Highly recommended book.

The material is very up-to-date and presented in an easily understandable manner. It also presents both LRFD and ASD design methods. Another great aspect is that other sources are regularly cited throughout the text; if you want to learn more about a particular subject you'll have at least one good reference within that section. Overall a great book for both educating and referencing in the professional field!

Clear concise well documented. The sixth edition represents a major revision of the format of the manual. More logical and complete with fire safety issues addressed we all need to read carefully.!

This book covers a lot of topics. It's especially good for curved and glulam beams. The only thing that I am disappointed with is that some topics in the previous edition were removed. Overall, it is a good design aid and good book.

I have Brayer's book but wanted this one for other information that weren't referenced in Brayer's book so it was a good compliment to it.

Met all expectations! Still the incredible resource that I remember w/ strengths in clarity, conciseness, easily navigated, and depth ...much to grow into as we work more and more. Truely sound structural and construction fundementals brought to the world of timber. The updates are invaluable.
