New Headway: Pre-Intermediate Fourth Edition: Student's Book

It is great. It helped a lot to save my time. It has a lot of communicative activities and detailed grammar reference with practical exercises. It also has word list for each unit which is very handy for students. 5 out of 5.

Great book, my students love it. Very clear and structured use of grammar, wide range of English vocabulary, which provides many opportunities for more creative supplementary lessons.

I hate both the teacher's book and the students'. I got two CDs with the teachers' book. One will not play and the other bears no relation to the listening texts in the students' book. The first lesson in the students' book asks why a person who says they are Scottish is learning English twice a week. The answer - for his job. He's a teacher. What kind of rubbish is this? I am taking over an ESOL course in France. There has been so much confusion about the editions of the book that the first week, students (and I ) turned up with three different editions, none of which bore any relation to the others - Nor either of the CDs, I have to point out. I'm livid, because ten people have paid out extortionate amounts of money for these books. Poor show, OUP.

This is good quality and comes with the required CD.

I can't tell you how disappointed I am with the Headway books. The actual book is fine, has a clear pathway for language, is well illustrated and up to date. However, it's virtually no use without the CD which costs about a gazillion pounds for no reason at all. All the listening and speaking parts are on the CD so large sections of the book are inaccessible because you need the CD in order to answer the questions. I bought the teachers book which has a CD but the CD is just printable resources and of little additional benefit. The teachers' book does have some useful hints and tips regarding language learning but that's about it. Unless you're a teacher that claim back hundreds of pounds in expenses from your school I wouldn't bother.

Teacher resource disk missing which is actually what I wanted. It means I can't teach what is needed, I can't use the book to support the student book. Thanks for not helping. Do not buy from this company. They don't check their products.

Diese 3 Teile enthalten: a) DVD-ROM: iTutor, Revise, Review, Improve (Student's Book); b) CD-ROM: Teachrer's Resource Disc (Teacher's Book); c) CD-ROM: iChecker, Assess, Progress (Workbook with Key). Jedes Niveau enthält ca. 12 Units mit folgenden Inhalten: Grammar, Vocabulary, Everyday English, Skills Development (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing). Das Lehrwerk enthält sehr viele, interessante und beliebte Themen und somit kann das Lehrwerk sowohl im schulischen als auch im außer-schulischen (privaten) Bereich eingesetzt werden. Man kann viel Zeit für die Vorbereitung des Unterrichts sparen weil die Vorbereitung für den Unterricht ist im Lehrwerk integriert und enthält Erklärungen dazu im Teacher's Book. Außerdem, zum Lehrwerk gibt es auch 2 DVDs (über 6 Stunden) und mit Kopiervorlagen: Headway fourth edition video with photocopiable worksheets; Beginner, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate. Durch zahlreiche Übungen und die dazu integrierten Lösungen zu den Übungen, kann man sowohl Wortschatz und Grammatik als auch Sprechen, Schreiben, Leseverstehen und Hörverstehen gut und schnell lernen. Die Wörter, Redewendungen und grammatischen Regeln werden im Kontext von Sätzen erklärt. Wenn man systematisch mit diesem Lehrwerk arbeitet, erreicht man am Ende des Studiums sehr gute Ergebnisse im Bereich English lernen. Wenn man Englisch richtig lernen will, sollte man alle Teile des Lehrwerks kaufen. Es lohnt sich.

The reason for the poor rating is that the code is missing from the inside cover that gives access to the listening exercises online - the book isn't any good without it.

Je recommande ce manuel pour progresser en anglais !!!! L'utilisation de ce dernier m'a permis de me perfectionner de manière significative
