Yes, at first glance, it is difficult to close the pour spout lid but it's actually quite an improvement! The top of the spout is slightly beveled so that when the cap is put on, none of the liquid comes out. The cap is difficult to slip on over that beveled edge, but go get a teaspoon and bend the edge of the spout inward just a bit until it goes inside the cap. You can hear it click when it goes in! This will seal the cap and keep anything from leaking out. I also think that the more you use it, the more malleable will get and the easier it will be to snap on over the spout.
