Ah-So Wine Opener Two-Prong Cork Puller, Black/Silver – Gentle Cork Preservation for Vintage Wine Bottles, Compact 1pc with Cover

When you remove the cover two prongs are revealed for opening corked bottles. The opener does not come with any instructions. When I used it on a bottle of red wine that had a cork, the prongs went out of shape and I reverted to a regular cork screw. It is supposed to enable you to remove a cork without damaging it, although even with a fair amount of force the cork didn't move much. As a bottle opener it works quite well though.

I haven't tried this yet as, among the hundreds of wines in the supermarket, only a couple of reds had corks over screw-top and, call me a plebian but I only drink white. Still, it works ok with beercaps and the prongs look like they'd do the job with a cork should I encounter one. Although I think the handle could be more ergonomically shaped and bottle opener edge looks like the decorative design may be at the detriment to versatility. It arrived in a plain white box making it slightly less ideal as a gift for a wine liver -lol, lover.
