How do you wash clothing that has been colored so that coloring is preserved?

I haven't tried yet on this product, but many colors can be set by soaking overnight in a bucket of strong salt water... maybe cup of salt. next day the water may have a pink to red tint. If you want to use multiple colors you will have to set them individually

how much surface area does each jar paint? how many t shirts one sided could I paint?

It will cover 3 square feet, if that!!! I bought two jars to paint a roman blind that is 34" W x 36" L (8.5 ft) . The blind was a medium tan color and I wanted to change it to gray . I used the neutral gray paint. I had to thin it out in an effort to cover the entire blind. 2 jars still did not cover the entire area. Because I thinned it out, it was more opaque and I didn't get full color coverage either - the tan showed through. I am ordering 4 more jars so that I can get full coverage of the blind area and so I can get full color coverage. I don't need 4 jars (probably only need two more - now that I have a base of color) but buying extra just to be safe. I will be happy with the color of the blind after a second coat. I like the paint. It has very good color saturation (if you don't thin it out). My only complaint is that the jars are so small and don't cover much surface area.

How well does this work for block printing and stamping on cotton?

It works very well. I block print with it on dark fabrics- if your question is about the jaquard super opaque- it works great.

Can anybody tell me how to wash this paint from the stencil templates?

Just soak them in warm to hot water for a few minutes . After that , rubbing a little soap on the stencil should help the paint to slide off. Rinse and pat dry.
