By far, the best throwing knives on amazon. Worth the price.
Pros: + Very sturdy blades + Very sharp edges when received in mail + Perfectly balanced + Easy to sharpen + Easy to hide from curious children Cons: - a little expensive, but then again, the quality of the blades are that valuable. ~15$ per blade. - The nylon sheath is very poor quality, but then again I bought this for the knives. The clip that is designed to wrap around your thigh can easily break off. (I do a lot of movement, so the stress test is that consistent running will put too much strain on it. If you are only throwing with the nylon sheath on, then I don't think it will be too big of an issue.) - The paracord rap is fragile. Mine fell of when I would accidentally hit the other throwing knives' handle as they were stuck in the target. The more consistent you get with your aim, the more likely this is to happen. Not the end of the world, however, this will change your rotational speed of the knife and comfort for holding and throwing. -Ring on end of kunai can be sharp sometimes, and I sanded down the edges in the ring so that they wouldn't cut me when I would do tricks with them Images: 1: The first image is what to expect after about a week of use. (I keep these ones as "Show pieces" so when friends want to throw I can have a set too.) 2: The second image is what to expect after a couple years of throwing. They have been chipped on rocks, other knives, and definitely look worn, but I just kept sharpening them, and bam, good as new (functionally at least)! 3: The third picture is proof of the balance of the blade. Right at the end of the handle is where it should be. (It's also fun to balance!) 4: the fourth picture is my 2 sets of kunai put together. One with a week of experience, and the others that have been thrown thousands of times. Responsibilities: If you plan on throwing for a lifetime, I definitely suggest getting a wet stone. This can help you make the blades a lot more sharper after they become inevitably dull/chipped. Most chips results from blade on blade hits, bouncing off stone or rocks on the ground, and general stress that is usually pushed more onto the tip of the blades. Other than that, make sure your kids can't find them unless YOU trust them with it. They are sharp and cool, the perfect thing to send your curious boy to get stiches in the emergency room. Is this the right set for me?: They are heavy, sharp and dangerous. You need the bear minimum responsibility to upkeep them. More passive use of the strap will prolong its lifespan. It's a wonderful, meditative experience to lose yourself in.

Please note that I love these things and gave them five stars before you read further. I just have to get it off my chest that these things are not kunais. A kunai was a thick, heavy and dull elliptically shaped chunk of wrought iron that medieval Japanese people used as a trowel. [...] These things are throwing knives. Really cool throwing knives. Pluses: + Very sharp. Each one of these three knives would make an excellent double edged dagger or a decent utility knife. In fact, you'd probably be unwise to throw this knife in a real fight because it would be more useful to you as a fighting knife. + Length. 12 inches. The blade is long enough to reach vital organs. + Weight and balance. Optimal for throwing. When throwing it at a plywood target the tip would penetrate several inches into the plywood. + The ring at the non-pointy end is useful for attaching a lanyard etc. Getting hit with the ring end wouldn't be fun either! Sometimes when I hit my plywood target with the ring end it would penetrate as well. + Inexpensive. I would easily pay this price for one throwing knife, but you get three for about $25! It's amazing! + Lethality. I can really envision these things inflicting a fatal wound. The weight and sharpness and blade length really combine to make a lethal weapon. This is not a toy, even though it's fun to play with. + Sheath. Appears to be high quality though I can't say I have used the sheath much. + Packaging. Attractive sturdy packaging with Expendables logo etc, and each blade is protected by a nice clear-plastic sheath within a sheath that could be a safe and handy way to protect the blade. I recommend not throwing away the packaging. That said, I just watched The Expendables on Netflix just to see these knives in action and it was about the stupidest movie I've ever seen. The only good part was seeing these knives plunge into people's necks and skulls with just the ring and handle sticking out. But that was maybe 2 minutes out of a 90 minute movie. + Tough. It's one piece and the steel is hard. I've owned throwing knifes that got bent from normal throwing. I threw one of these knives for hours yesterday and the knife did not bend, break, or chip. It's tougher than nails because nails bend! Minuses: - Other reviewers have pointed out that the cord wrapped around the handle comes off from normal throwing. I headed off this problem by wrapping bright orange duct tape around the handle of the one I use for practice. This kept the cord on and makes it easy to find in the grass when you miss or it bounces off the target. - The double-edged blade is so sharp that I had to grip it from the ring end when throwing it. I couldn't really hold the pointy end when throwing it for fear of cutting my fingers. If you've thrown knives you know that to make it hit point first from certain distances you have to grip it from the pointy end. In summary these are good, heavy, sharp high quality throwing knives that also make good daggers or field knives.

These Kunais are the longest and heaviest ones I have ever seen. Solid and well crafted. These knives are not a toy for young kids to play with. The blades are razor sharp on both sides. Handle with due care. When I slid them back into the sheath, the knives just cut straight through the fabric. The sheath is a joke. My sheath is now decked out with Gorilla Tape. I set up a 4 x 8 plywood target, with two sheets of Coroplast (corrugated plastic) on the front. I have been practicing overhand and underhand throws, and gradually increasing the distance. It's a great hobby. I'm hooked and will be ordering 2 more sets of these kunais. Also: I am having great luck throwing 2 knives at once. It's really cool. Practice makes perfect. Remember to follow through after releasing the knife for maximum impact.

This is a good price (~$35-40), the kunai throwers are good decent weight and size (whole 12", blade 6 1/2"). The balance is a little off as a throwing knife, but it does look good.

Excellent balance, easily thrown, good finish. Only downside is the wrap on the handles and the leg strap. The handle wrap is not secured in any way, just tucked under so it would be wise to apply some glue to keep it fastened. And the leg strap for the sheath was twisted around and you cannot completely undo it to fix the problem. Not a deal breaker by any means but its a little uncomfortable.

If you have seen the Expendables then you know the knifes look heavy and sharp so they do what you expect from them.. It is definitely true or even better.. If you have not seen the Expendables I suggest you check it out so you know what to expect.
