Solved my problem.
I installed a deep window sill right up tight to the crank mechanism. This made it so I couldn't use a solid window crank. I found this window crank and it solved all my problems. If you're here looking at it, you know exactly why I got it too. Sure beats using vice grips.

RBA quality replacement handle @ 1/4 the cost!!
These casement window crank handles are exactly what we needed-- for 1/4 the price our window company wanted to charge us! We have had our windows for 17 years now & had 1 cracked handle on a much used window. Renewal by Anderson window company wanted $79 for this same part. This is their metro style - 2nd generation style. Thank you Amazon!!!

Nice folding handle
I needed a folding handle to replace a non-folding one on a 1990s era Andersen Window. That way I could properly close a new shade I was installing in the window frame. And it worked perfectly!

Longer than the original handle
This handle is what I wanted BUT it is longer than the original so it hits the sill when rotating to open or close the window. The 'T' handle would not have the leverage needed to operate the windows and these do, but hitting the sill is not ideal.

Easy to install
It fit good as a replacement part. And was easy to install with just one screw. Quality of part seemed solid.

Defective
Fits the purpose in that it sits flusher than the stock cranks. I saw others that looked cleaner, but I wasn’t sure they would fit my windows. The problem with the cranks I received is that the screws that are provided in the replacement cranks are too short. I had to pop them out and use the screws on the original cranks. Luckily, 1) I thought to try them and 2) they are compatible. Otherwise, I’d be sending the whole lot of them back.

Just what I needed
I was looking for an affordable replacement handle so that our new shades could be pulled fully down without the handle getting in the way - a problem with the original standard stock handle that extended way out across the sill. Handle fits well on original Anderson crank hardware and I now no longer have that standard handle that sticks way out and interfered with shade closing
