I have no need or desire for an extension. If you require an extension, you should consider a Tripod! **Q: How long does the male 3/8"-16 threaded connection bolt stickup?** A: 1/4 to 1/2 inch is my visual assessment. **Q: Does the tripod work as a monopod alone?** A: Yes it would, it has an adapter to a 1/4” screw hole. **Q: Description states this stand supports 32lbs. Is that true or is it 3.2lbs? 32lb is a huge weight to load bearing ratio.** A: 32 lbs has the weight of a geared head and definitely requires the support of an heavy duty head. I have a Benro monopod but one of the base feet broke. I am a videographer by trade so I went on a hunt to find a new replacement and ended up with this one. So far after filming several weddings and promotional videos using it, I have been very pleased with my results. I find it has stronger feet latches than my Benro had. It has the same functions but better. It has 2 different height adjustments. You can tilt it. I use either a Panasonic GH5 or GH5S on this and get keeps the camera and monopod up straight and stable. I would highly recommend this product for professional or hobbyist use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2nd Half of an Amazing Monopod *by V***0 on February 23, 2021* I bought this for the Avella monopod and I can’t rave enough about it. Fraction of the cost of my Sirui and Manfrotto video rigs and it’s just as sturdy and fits in an airplane carry one.
