I tend to look at these as shop consumables, since they tend to get a lot of abuse and don't last long. To pierce automotive wire, you need thin probes, and thin probes bend easy, but you need thin probes.... These are as well made as most will ever need for use in the automotive diagnostic environment. They fit tight and are affordable enough to have a steady supply on hand. They are a good product and I recommend purchasing.

I would not use these to test outdoor wires (like my solar cables) without resealing the insulation of the wire with silicone or waterproof shrink-wrap tape of some kind, but in situations where it’s difficult to get to the wire ends with a multimeter, they can be invaluable for testing the integrity of the wiring. This is an ample supply of probe pins to have on hand for those times when nothing else will do.
