Withstood Industrial Use
I have three for my kitchen staff. Works great! Blades are durable, and stupid easy to sharpen if you know what you're doing. For the price, an immaculate tool

Great to slice, very sharp blades, but be sure to check the size. This is small.
Very sharp blades.

Super sharp
This is so sharp and genuinely amazing. I ordered this after seeing the review on America's test kitchen. I've owned mandolins for many years, and this is by far the best one I have ever owned. Clean and ultra thin cuts, and the added blades for julienne worked perfectly. I don't know how it will do for longevity, but I was very impressed with my initial use of it. When I use a mandolin I use cut gloves rather than the included handguard. Update: I've been using this for 2.5 years and need a blade replacement. Blade replacement costs about the same as a new unit, so I'll get a new one now. I think I used this about once every two weeks for a large quantity of items.

Best Value Mandolin for Superior Vegetable Slicing
Since I was introduced to the Benriner Mandolin in 2003, I have owned three of them. I was taking a class at the ICE in NYC from a professional chef. She told us that this inexpensive Mandolin was superior for vegetable slicing to any other on the market. She was RIGHT. It is easy to use, light weight, and has excellent sharp slicing. You throw it in the dishwasher and it cleans up like a charm.

A bit narrow
I got this instead of the super size because it had slightly better reviews and obviously it's notably cheaper. After using it a few times, I was wishing I hadn't cheaped out and got the bigger model. What I use it for most is slicing onions for making Oklahoma onion burgers (definitely look it up if you're not familiar with it) and for pickled onions. If you have an onion bigger than small-medium size, it doesn't fit whole. Cutting the onion in half and then slicing each half obviously takes longer and if you wanted whole rings you're out of luck. I haven't made cole slaw with this yet but I imagine needing to cut the cabbage into 3 inch wide chunks will get old quickly too. It is EXTREMELY sharp and it did a marvelous job of taking the end of my thumb off because I was too macho to use the included guard or a cut glove. It's not the mandoline's fault, it was mine. I'll get the bigger model someday when this wears out or breaks, but it's fine for now.

If you know, you know
My wife is a serious cook of asian foods. Lots of food prep. This is our second one, the last one having lasted 20 years. The first one was still functional but the screws were getting hard to turn, so we replaced it with a new one. Still the same build quality. If you use mandolins, you probably know how easy to use the Benriner product is. Worth every penny.

Small, slippery and impractical
1. The product is too narrow, which, makes its use limited. Apples can for example not be sliced, unless they are very small. 2. The text on the base makes the finger protection come to a stop during slicing. It could be solved with a sharp knife, but it shouldn't really be needed. A manufacturing fault. 3. The product lacks a base/stand. It need to be used with some kind of bowl, but the product is very slippery, and needs to be clamped down to the bowl unless you are born with an extra hand. In summery, a completely miss this is.

USE THE SAFETY GUARD.
I zoned out and accidentally cut part of my thumb off. Very clean cut, didn't even leave blood on the blade. Also very suitable for many types of fruits and veg. Do realize this is a smaller size mandoline so some items do require precutting for best results.

Excellent, reliable slicer for everyday use
It’s super sharp and makes slicing veggies really quick and easy. I’ve used it for cucumbers, potatoes, and cabbage, and everything comes out nice and even without much effort. It’s lightweight but still feels sturdy, and I like that you can adjust the thickness depending on what you need. The extra blades are a nice bonus too if you want different cuts. Also, it’s really easy to clean, which is a big plus. Overall, just a simple, reliable kitchen tool that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Definitely worth it!
