Our German Shepard is 8 yrs old, and he has been getting this product 2x/day with his meal for many years now. When he was ~ 2 years old, he was losing weight and was not looking good, and the Kennel guy recommended this product. It really had immediate effect and our dog has been quite healthy ever since. German Shepard, especially the pure bred ones are prone to lot of digestive problems and arthritis later in life. Ours have arthritis now, but I think this product helps reduce the impact from it. Only complaint I have is that I wish they bring back the hard plastic container. I don't like the soft plastic bag that they switched to. It's messy and I have to transfer the powder to a hard container. Also, it is a bit pricey, but I think it is worth it.

So I read the reviews before I purchased this product to see what everyone's opinion was and this here is my own experience.....The new plastic bag that it comes in is really not use full.On their own website it shows it in a new plastic bag. Amazon still has an old photo of the jug.An because with the settlement of the power through shipping you have to fish around inside of the bag to find the tiny scoop. Then it would not seal up properly cause of the grains of product in the zipper.So I kept the 4lb plastic jug from the last product I had( in which I'll never use again)And poured Vertex into it.Now iam happy 😊But the biggest and main thing is my dog loves this stuff !When I mixed this up with his water, he didn't hesitate to drink it

I have been using Vertex for more than 9 years. For my SAR dogs, it seems to increase their ability to work in hot weather, increase stamina and improve overall recovery. I carry the PowerBoost in my radio harness, and feed Vertex to all my working dogs, especially in Summer. I also feed this to my working LGD (Livestock Guardian Dogs) in Winter when they are facing deep Winter cold. They keep maintain their weight, and really thrive. For bitches in whelp, this has helped them maintain weight, and they seem to return to working condition much faster.

I like how easily that product keeps weight on my guys. I was feeding my working puppy 3 cups a day, with the addition. Of Vertex, I've dropped her feed amount to 2 1/2 cups a day and she maintains her weight and energy level.
