This book is amazing and encouraging for anyone looking to gain inspiration on intercessor prayer and intimacy with the living loving Lord Jesus.

If you are an intercessor, chances are good you have read (and re-read) numerous books on prayer and intercession. This is not just another heavy book on holiness and praying through, but this book gives voice to many who consistently hesitated in claiming Intercessor as a title. We didn't fit the mold. We took things seriously - but rarely carried heaviness when done praying. We enjoyed life and laughter and adventure and seeing how God would come through and answer. We didn't buy into the burden-baring melancholy role of, (sigh), "the intercessor"! I am not saying that this stereotype is wrong, I am saying that this incredible book by Beni Johnson shows us a better, lighter, more powerful, HAPPIER way! The chapter on the praying from the third heaven will encourage you to stop and consider how you pray and from what realm. That alone will bring breakthrough and an increase in answered prayers! I actually went through this book with my own little group of Happy Intercessors! As we read it together and discovered the outings and outcomes that Beni and her group went on, we realized that we had similar stories... how refreshing to connect with intercessors who know, and enjoy the joy of the Lord! If you feel like you are or may be an intercessor, but that thought seriously scares you - this is a MUST READ! If you know you are an intercessor, but never really wanted to broadcast that out loud for fear of being stereotyped - dive into this book and find 'your people'!

I’ve appreciated and loved the culture of honor and passion for the Lord at Bethel Church (via worship nights, YouTube, etc), but I didn’t realize the gift of Beni Johnson until her passing. While watching her celebration of life service, I became so inspired by the impact that she’d made on her family and friends and I so wanted to learn from her. So immediately after watching the service, I ordered The Happy Intercessor and I truly could not put the book down. It was a joy to read! If you’re a “feeler” like Beni, and like me, and have felt like you don’t always fit in, and don’t quite know what to do with who you are and the way you intensely feel what you feel, then I highly recommend this book to you! Beni’s insight spoke to me lovingly and deeply. Her story and experiences seemed to validate and explain why we feelers feel the way we do! She explains that what we feel and experience with God and others has a deeper purpose, and that purpose is to pray. I’m so thankful to “connect” with Beni in this way and to learn from her years of seeking and finding the Lord. I felt as though the ending of her life here on earth was also the beginning of many seeds being sown - to bring about new life in women who love and experience the Lord like Beni. Like me. And perhaps, like you!

The Best Book I Ever Read on Prayer. It will become My Manuel To Refer Back To.

My copy of The Happy Intercessor showed up the day after the Newtown shooting tragedy. Previously, I had relied on The Ministry of Intercession by Andrew Murray. The back cover of The Happy Intercessor has the words "intercession with joy". That idea is what makes the book well worth the read. It was my lot to be giving the book a sober reading during a particularly sorrowful time. Mrs Johnson's way of worship could be said to be "liberal" compared to my "traditional" way of worship. However, I found nothing in the book that invalidated her points. While Andrew Murray exhorts readers to intercessory prayer from a sense of Christian duty, Beni Johnson encourages the reader to experience intercessory prayer as a joyful experience. And isn't it possible that a person experiencing prayer as a joyful experience might just pray more often? I underline in red as I read along. Thumbing through my copy now, it is obvious that I found more in the first half of the book than in the last half. However, I found ideas throughtout the book that were worth reading. I believe the last thing I underlined was the idea that when dealing with God and prayer, surrendering may be more effective than striving. There are good points throughout the book, and I am not going to list them all because that would ruin your own experience of reading it. However, I will admit that I enjoyed the chapter on an offensive lifestyle. If one has the gift of intercessory prayer, it just makes sense that you will get more out of it if you practice it more. The Happy Intercessor is designed to lead you to more joy in the intercessory prayer experience.

This book and Benni will inspire you to new heights in your Intercession ministry! It has changed my life in the best way!

This is the best book I have read on intercession, and Beni's honest and applicable writing style made this the prime book for my altar ministry team to read. I read this book in a day because I couldn't put it down. Immediately after finishing, I wanted to go into the presence of God because the book was so stirring. I especially took away Beni's principle of praying God's heart and using prophetic actions and symbols in your prayer life. Anyone involved in intercession MUST read this book...for those interested in learning more about intercession, or even if you just need something to get you more stirred up to pray, read this!
