There is so much wrong with this unit it's hard to know where to begin. First off, "Amazon Choice" Reviews have once again proven to be worthless, or at best inconsistent, written by some hapless low level desk jockey who has not used the device in real life situations. I checked again and this device is no longer listed as a "Choice" and Amazon's staff review is gone, so that should tell you something. Out of the box, the device has to use it's own special charging cord, the standard cords USB cords do not work with this device because poor design has made the charging socket to deep on the device. Do you really want to worry about always having a special cord?? The accuracy starts off fair to good but then rapidly deteriorates to where the device has to constantly be re-booted. The feel and play on the buttons is horrible resulting in many miscues and malfunctions. Even with nimble fingers the WiFi passwords are difficult to enter. The unit feels cheaply made. I have tried using this device in Asia and South American, and end up reaching for my cell phone and using the free Google Translator app instead, which does not require WiFi. The unit needs a way to erase old dictated messages without erasing all entries. The ONLY good feature, is that the unit remembers old passwords so the when you return to your hotel, it searches and automatically reconnects. This is the third device I have wasted money on, until the technology improves you are better off using free Google app

The media could not be loaded. I can’t stress how impressed I am with this translator. It is extremely easy to setup, learn and use. It took me literally all of 30 seconds to get it up and running.It is very easy to use, and most of the phrases I gave it to translate were done correctly. And it does it all with lightning speed. The voice is very clear and easy to understand. I just wish you had a choice of voices to select from. And the list of included languages is complete and more than I will ever personally need.The size is just right to handle and carry in your pocket...smaller than most phones. And the controls are intuitive and easy to maneuver and use.

This handheld has changed the game for me in speaking to my Spanish client base. It's small and easy to use. I'm a Realtor and use it to talk on the phone and in person. It does have a one minute delay for a response back and forth because of it having to translate but it's worth it.The only issues I have come across is that it didn't come with a AC charger. It only came with a USB and it will only work in my car so I have to remember to charge it before meeting a Spanish speaking client. It takes a long time to charge. It does allow you to speak in any language. The next issue is, you have to reset the WiFi upon wake-up if you turn off your Personal Hotspot or turn the machine off. It will pick-up any signal or WiFi near you to choose from. The last issue is, the thumb control for the volume will go down to off sometimes while you are talking and you don't realize it because you are pushing the dial and not realizing you are also pushing on the volume. Overall it's worth the price paid. I can go to any country and understand their language. Can't buy that for a dollar!Hope this helps.

Touch display non responsive at times. Several times after connecting to a reliable strong wifi source unit indicates NO reception. It works fine for a few translations then stops and needs to be rebooted. The processor must be very slow. Long lag between speaking and getting a translation.The plastic case reminds me of a Kids toy. I expected much more for the price.Most important, I wouldn’t call this a reliable product.

So after opening one of these, then immediately fully charging it per the instructions, I tried using it. It worked great. Feels like cheap, lightweight plastic, but it worked. So, I bought another one as a gift! Then the next day, it froze. The original one. Wouldn’t do anything at all, not even turn off. Charged it fully again, and the next day, it wouldn’t do anything at all, not even turn on. Completely useless. So I sent it back to Amazon, and got a refund. The 2nd one came, I gave it as a gift to my girlfriend’s Polish mother, so we could finally have conversations. After 2 days, she took it to work so she could communicate with American co-workers. It again, also froze and stopped working!! Embarrassing. Awful, defective product. Do NOT Buy!!!! Spend for the slightly more expensive ones. This one is crap.

The left one I have bought it from this website and the one on the right were my Dad bought it for me 5 years ago. I love this one more, because we are living in a communication world, especially needs to communicate no matter where you go. The reason why I love this translator because this translator could interpreting some words that is very difficult to explain. Besides, it is 3 times cheaper than the one my dad bought. My mom doesn't speak English and its hard for her to talk with someone in English, I bought it for her as a gift. She found out that it is a very helpful product. There are many languages and she could even take it to work when people speak Spanish to her.

I bought this for my Brazilian wife. It was easy to setup and use but there are a few things you should know before and after you buy it. 1) This device DOES require WiFi to work and connects easily to wireless networks or cellphone hot spot.2) Not all languages show up the first time you turn it on, but once connected to WIFI will download many others quickly. 3) Seems to work best with short sentences spoken slowly. For example: How are you? How much does it cost? You look nice today; etc. 4) There is some delay between speaking and hearing the translation so be patient. 5) Long or run on sentences can confuse it and take forever to translate. 6) We found the translations to be about 80% accurate. Be sure to speak clearly and without slang. 7) Holds a charge a long time. You can use it for the entire day without recharging. 8) All-in-all it is a good device but will take a little patience to get used to. 9) All this said, I would buy again.
