Great for wool!
This is a terrific product! I used it on my wool coat and jeans I soaked my wool coat in it, in a basin so not to ruin my coat. But this stuff is pretty close to waterproofing. I live in the Northeast area. It doesn't let snow melt into the fabric. Added bonus it doesn't get dirty as easily. Everything got wiped away. I also used it on my jeans and socks that I use for barn work. It lets socks breathe but doesn't get wet from sweating or snow. Barn jeans were easily wiped clean! I don't know how I lived without it honestly!

Repels water well. Need clearer directions.
Works well for repelling water on outdoor gear. Same problem as with the wash. They do not define "capful". I wasn't sure if a capful the small circular part, or the entire diamond shape space under the cap...

Works good if follow directions
I work outside in pacific north west that means it’s rainy a lot! This stuff will make your rain gear work like new or better than new. I fill wash machine with warm water add appropriate amount of product respective to water level and number of garments. Put product in and let the wash cycle do its thing but pay attention when it’s done and spins out you don’t want the washer to fill for rinse with garments in there. I find it works best if don’t try to do too much at once. I put my XL jacket and bibs in and that’s plenty. You want the garment to move around and agitate good. Put in dryer and let the product “set” Water beads off and gear stays breathable witch if you spend a lot of time in rain gear and are active it needs to breathe other wise you’ll feel like you weren’t wearing rain gear at all cause youll be soaking wet with sweat! Add cold to that and you’re miserable all day! This product keeps me dry and warm inside my rain gear.

This product was recommended to my by a rep at Columbia Sportswear who I contacted as my jackets were no longer water resistant. I used the product via the washing machine method, per instructions, and it seems to have added some water resistance, but it certainly isn’t water proof. Maybe the soak in a sink method works better...

Best water repellent on the markt
I've used all the brands, this is the best water repellent. It works well with some post wash sprays as well. As long as you carefully follow the instructions this brings your clothing back to new. The water beads right off. I used it once a year to keep the water beading and it's never failed. It's basically no scent and lasts about one season with normal use, no residues.

Start with a clean coat and pre-wash before using Gear Aid Wash-in Water Repellent
I had great success with Gear Aid Wash-in Water Repellent. I read the reviews and was somewhat concerned as to whether or not Gear Aid would work. Prior to using this product, I took my coat to the dry cleaners to be professionally cleaned, since I read on the manufacturer's website that a clean garment will work the best. After that, I followed the packaging directions for Machine. I pre-washed my coat without soap or other laundry products, and did not use the recommended Revivex Pro Cleaner (I figured that since the coat has already been cleaned, it did not need cleaning again), but that the pre-wash was important to saturate the coat to allow the Gear Aid to work. I put the coat in the dryer on medium heat for 40 minutes and tested it under running water. Water ran off the coat as advertised

Waste of money!
This product doesn’t work. It didn’t get the stains out of my light colored jacket and it stripped all the jackets I washed with it. I followed the package instructions and paired with the detergent as recommended by the brand. What was a jacket that used to soak through after heavy rain now soaks in immediately, barely even beads. Very disappointed.

Works as advertised
Worked really well on three jackets to restore water repellency. Used in conjunction with the Gear Aid Revivex Pro Cleaner. Used the cleaner in the washing machine as prescribed, then did the water repellant treatment by hand, as stated in the instructions. Jackets are now fully waterproof again.

People say it works..let me find out.
Gear Aid has 4.7 of 5.0 stars. The highest number of stars on Amazon. Plan to use it on my ForceField rain gear. Says 1 ounce or 2-tablespoons per article. Reviewers state to soak gear in luke warm water_enough to fully submerge the item for 20 minutes minimum. Spin dry (Don't Rinse) Then throw it in a dryer on low heat for 30-60 minutes to activate the waterproofing. I'll update this review and share my results soon. UPDDATE:; When I opened the bottle the fluid was just like sour milk/globby. I took 1 oz and washed my jacket hoping the water would liquify the Gear Aid but it didn't. My jacket came out all spotted. In reviews a couple people had the same issue. Did it freeze in the back of intelcoms truck? The item was very cold when handed to me. Returning for refund. It does say guaranteed for 2 years. Could simply be a bad batch but I could not find an expiration date on bottle. For $37.00 I admit I'm disappointed.

No Sirve!
Lo utilice para lavar una chamarra y no sirvió, además que por el tamaño del producto es extremadamente caro.
