Understanding various SAP solutions for managing inventory and configuring the Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM) system independently requires an understanding of the options, intricacies, and variables that go into crucial Supply Chain Management (SCM) decision-making. Written for SAP consultants, those interested in a career in SCM EWM, and SAP customers simply interested in selecting the right solution for their inventory and warehouse needs, this is the first and only reference text you need. Comprehensive, highly detailed, and easy to understand, Rajesh Mendonca and Janet Mascarenhas’s debut simplifies the complex by following a highly logical, linear format that explains the processes with the utmost clarity. Included in this groundbreaking text are: tables that simplify the sea of pertinent information; diagrams explaining and connecting configuration objects; step-by-step procedures involved in the configuration process; screenshots that help visualize the system without actually logging into it in order to connect to the practical environment; and live examples examining and providing solutions for warehouse challenges, all of which will guarantee that by referring to this book you will be able to confidently and successfully configure the system on your own. SAP customers as well as consultants who read this book will have a clear understanding of the different solutions available in SAP to manage inventory and be able to make informed decisions regarding most effective solutions for their warehouse needs. Full of extraordinarily precise, detailed analysis, Mendonca and Mascarenhas provide the most exhaustive primer of its kind on the market today. Applicable through every phase of the SAP EWM process with a value far beyond the standard guidebook currently available, Fundamentals of SCM EWM: A Step-by-Step Guide is a must-have for anyone using, consulting on, or contemplating a career in SAP EWM. You can buy this book and learn SAP EWM by yourself by renting EWM and ECC server or you can take SAP EWM configuration training from us. More details are available in our website www.ewmguru.com Review: An honest approach - To begin with, I am an experienced SAP consultant and bought this book to train myself on EWM. I was very influenced all the reviews this book has in desertcart.com (lots of good reviews there) and hence bought the book. I like the style of presentation, the font size ( it makes a huge difference when you are reading a 500 page technical book) and the screen shots. the Authors have explained the concepts and other technical details in a way that none of the SAP books do it out there. Review: Good plementation guide - Well structured and covers all aspects of designing and configuring EWM. The necessary links to ECC are explained very well. Would benefit from a Glossary of acronyms - the full meaning can be a bit difficult to spot in the text

A Fantastic Value for Money
What a great book for anyone new to this complex subject and system! I had experience in SAP SD and data migration and never known anything about warehousing, then i came a cross this book on the web. After perusing through the introductory pages, i felt confident straight away that this was a subject i could lay my teeth on, i bought this book from Amazon and started reading it page to page, but then it i did not have a system to practice. I managed to get some system logging access via a friend and then i started configuring the steps while capturing all the config nodes on my spreadsheet which made sense. The book was very easy to follow, faster, efficient & reliable when i needed to confirm certain areas. The best thing about this book is the interface setup between ECC6 to SCM-EWM, here all the set-up on the ECC6 side are clearly laid down and so is the EWM side much better than SAP EWM books which are quite voluminous. The step by step configuration of both inbound (GR) and outbound (GI) processes is well organized in a clear and concise manner. It is clear that there is a good balance between technical/basis and EWM functional considerations which are a must have skill on this complex system/subject. The only improvement i could recommend for this fundamental book is the addition of an appendix at the back to enable fast search to key pages. Overall the book is fantastic and if i can buy the book as a fresher with no knowledge of warehousing and acquire so much within a short time, then you can also do it by taking the first step in ordering this book.

Book EWM molto ben fatto
Un vero e proprio manuale a che per i meno esperti. Non bisogna essere però a mio avviso completamente a digiuno di ewm in quanto si rischia di perdersi un po nei meandri delle configurazioni!

Comprehensive book
After a long search, finally came across this book on EWM. The book is as comprehensive as one can get with a very good coverage of the scenarios as well as the detailed configuration steps, which are the most essential for SAP consultants. A very good book for beginners and consultants. Thanks Rajesh.

Fundamentals of SCM-EWM - A (Must Have) Step-by-Step Guide
As market demand increasingly exceeds experienced consultant supply and as companies, consulting houses, seasoned SAP-WM professionals and individuals alike increase their awareness of SAP's best-of-breed SCM-EWM solution, there is no better techno/functional place to start than with this book; Fundamentals of SCM-EWM - A Step-by-Step Guide. When commencing the book, the authors have begun with a system that had no data or configuration and thus have painstakingly activated everything from scratch, including Business Configuration (BC) sets thus leading to a truly outstanding practical, methodical and fundamental reference guide. SAP's SCM-EWM solution targets large, complex, high volume/velocity warehouses where room for error is non-existent and the Fundamentals of SCM-EWM supports this philosophy by removing any such ambiguity, while exuding clear, concise, methodical and practical approaches to understanding the SCM-EWM solution by beginning with and successfully delivering: * High level explanations * Further establishing context through clearly defined, methodical diagrams * Establishing system configurations, supported with up-front quick references, empowered by methodical step-by-step procedures * Actual screenshots for visualization of the SAP system * And providing business process application & execution at a transactional level of detail Through Rajesh & Janet's painstaking work, they have successfully delivered a market leading SCM-EWM reference guide which truly can be used for techno/functional learning/training, while referencing it for project work, that no serious SCM-EWM professional should be without. Rajesh & Janet, without doubt, have added extreme value to the SCM-EWM marketplace, and the techno/functional consultant clearly benefits through expedited knowledge for a fraction of the cost when considering other knowledge mediums and reference manuals available today. Coupled with access to a SAP SCM-EWM environment, (whether it be in-house, authentic & licensed SAP remote access systems or appropriate method), in closing upon my opening paragraph, the gap between market demand and experienced consultant availability & supply can start to be closed, through referencing this material. It should be noted however, that those looking for insights into advanced concepts such as Labor Management, RF configuration, Kitting, Cross-Docking, Value-Added Services & Yard Management, could refer to {help.sap.com} and/or the authors follow-up work "Advanced Concepts in SCM-EWM". As a Certified SAP Solution Consultant & Certified SAP Application Professional, with exposure to the latest global SAP developments and forthcoming EWM 9.0 (next month, with general availability in early 2013), customizing and functional specification design solutions, 18 years of experience in Warehousing, Storage, Distribution and Manufacturing, I very rarely give recommendations, but I sincerely have high praise for this work. -Mark Jacobs {Professional SAP-(E)WM Profile @ Linked-In (/in/markianjacobs)
