Sleeping Beauty: Pop-Up Book (Fairytale Pop-ups)

Liked the illustrations but the colours are disappointing. However will keep it and see what my grandchildren think.

This is the perfect gift for anyone who loves fairytales. The artwork literally jumps up off the page and is incredibly detailed in earthy tones of red and brown throughout the book. There are six pop-ups, each one dominating a double page spread, and they depict the key scenes from the magical castle to the fateful spinning wheel. The accompanying text tells the story of Sleeping Beauty and the spell placed upon her by a spiteful fairy - however parents should note that this is not the Disney version of the classic tale. The story is enchanting and the artwork is exceptional with several layers of pop-ups to enjoy although small children may need to be supervised as the art is quite fragile. If you like this book I would definitely recommend the other titles in this series such as Hansel and Gretel and Red Riding Hood as they are equally well-crafted and add a little magic to the storytelling.

Brought for my neice for christmas, can't wait to read it with her, it is so well crafted, a real work of art
