But it is very sturdy metal and won't be daged.in any case. **Q: How many cups of flour for bread will this hold? I have a recipe that calls for 3 cups of flour and the loaves that I bake in my 9x5 pan are too big.** A: I have both sizes of bread pan, the smaller one and the 10 X 5 X 3. For the larger pan, I used a bread that has almond flour/coconut flour/flax seed meal and several eggs, probably 2.5 cups of flour altogether. All fit into this pan nicely. Since I don't make white or wheat bread anymore, all I can say is that this pan fits the bill! Very nice, heavy construction, and nothing ever sticks. I have several other USA pans and all are the same...very heavy, nice, and nothing sticks. I probably didn't answer your question, but it's the same size as a regular loaf pan, so I'm assuming 1-2 cups of flour, including the leavening, should cause the dough to rise to the top of the pan. The 10x5x3 (LxWxH) inch measurements make it a bigger pan than a standard-size pan, which would be about 9x5 inch i.e. the 1-1/4 pound version. I chose the bigger size version because I like my breads and cakes to have the kind of controlled shape a bigger pan provides, rather than tall β€œdome” bakes you get in standard size pans. However, the seller did not pack this properly at all. The pan was just kept inside the carton bare. No insulation whatsoever. I am surprised it got to me in one piece.
