Absolutely LOVE this pour over coffee maker!
My husband and I have been using the LePrem Pour Over for a while now and we ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! We thought we had great coffee before with our other coffee makers but boy were we wrong!Quality of LePrem - Very strong and high end. You feel the quality immediately. I bought a cheap pour over a while ago but the glass was so thin that it broke and then gave me a nice cut…! I’ve had a Chemex before, but the quality and feel of this pour over is even better.Easy to Clean - We just rinse with hot water and then place it back in our rack. So easy. No more French press struggles or expensive coffee machine issues. The lid is really handy, it keeps the temperature of the coffee hotter and more consistent for longer which really helped me on those days when I’m struggling to get everything done in the morning…!Filters - We thought about buying the metal cone to save some money but the problem with it is that it drained the coffee too fast, the beans were not able to get saturated and then it lost the flavor. We really like the #4 filter which did the job of filtering the coffee perfectly. The metal cones also let some ground coffee through which made it taste a bit more acidic. It’s a beautiful piece too and looks great on my counter (see my Pics attached). The aroma when making our coffee now using the LePrem puts us in the right mood for the day for sure! No more spending hundreds on coffee machines or trying the cheaper brands that break so easy. The fact that I have to wait a few more minutes to make this coffee is totally worth it!!The packaging was fantastic! Could have easily been used as a gift box and I’ll definitely be ordering more for friends and family.Trust this pour over coffee maker and it will give you great coffee, it’s so easy to use you just need to follow the directions they give you. LOVE IT!

WOW!
So I've owned a Chemex prior to this Le Prem. The reason why I got the Le Prem was that my wife knocked the Aeropress off the shelf and it fell on the Chemex, then shattered it. So I thought I'd go real cheap and bought the Bodum pour over. It was horrible as I didn't want to use the included metal filter so I tried using the Chemex filters...nope, that didn't really work either. So I looked around and came across the Le Prem and I loved that it said that it was "thicker glass".PROS:So it arrived in perfect condition and wow, it was correct, it's much thicker than the Chemex and feels much sturdier. I brewed my first Le Prem yesterday and it worked out perfectly! The lid made me laugh...yes it fits perfectly but honestly, glass is not a good overall heat retainer so the lid didn't do much to keep the heat in, but it looked cool!CONS:All of the writing on the glass (cup measurements, warnings of hot to touch, don't put it on fire) REALLY takes away from the beauty of the glass wood and leather.Speaking of the leather cord, it's MUCH thicker than the one I saved from our busted Chemex. Le Prem's leather cord was so thick it wouldn't stay knotted so I changed it out with the Chemex leather cord.

Satisfied but curious about its provenance
I bought three of these at the same time, one for me and two as family gifts around the holidays. Being new to pour over coffee makers I browsed around a lot and to be honest I thought this was a Chemex brand pourover when I decided on this model because of the lid. A friend was over recently and she said she had a Chemex too, and as I had been referring to mine as "a Chemex" we compared; she noted hers didn't have the lid, and also didn't have the painted on measuring lines on the side. I've been using this daily and it has been great. Ironically I never use the lid because I just make one cup at a time for myself so there are no leftovers and it's so easy to use when I'm ready for a second cup, I just rinse and start again. I actually rely on the measuring marks now to measure the water before putting it in the gooseneck kettle I also purchased on Amazon (the Opux). After realizing LePrem is not Chemex, I became curious about my coffee maker's provenance. When I searched for LePrem on a search engine I found a web page for this brand but it nowhere mentions where the product is made, and there were grammar and spelling mistakes, and no option to purchase directly - only on Amazon; so I'm guessing it's probably made in China. Since it does the job, and seems sturdy, and the measuring marks are helpful to me, it's not really an issue so much as a curiosity. The only con I'll mention which another review pointed out is the leather cord is somewhat thick and clumsy to tighten up when the wooden pieces get loose, but it's not unworkable, you just pull more tightly to knot and secure it.

Look of it
Not as pretty as Chemex:(

Does what it says.
Really it's just an expensive glass beaker with a peace of wood on it. It does what it claims to do and is easy to clean. The wood panel is removable then the glass can be cleaned. Otherwise you risk the wood rotting over time due to exposure to water.

Better than a Keurig
After going through so many cheap and expensive coffee makers, I finally found the one <3 I thought this was too much worked compared to the Keurig Vue but it wasn’t!The LePrem Pour over takes the coffee brewing experience to the next level! The problem with other coffee makers is the long clean-up which takes the fun out of the experience. While it does take a fair amount more effort to produce than my other base coffee maker, the difference in quality is stunning. After some trial and error, I WOULN’T recommend the metal cone filters which doesn’t filter as good as the paper filters as it leaves residues in the brew and gives it a more acidic taste.15 seconds to Clean the LePrem you just take the filer, drop it in the trash, and rinse the Pour Over with hot water. No more cleaning issues like the French Press. I will never use another coffee maker. The lid really does helps with keeping the temperature of my coffee and I like my coffee HOT!

No lid!
Didn’t come with a lid, which is the whole reason I purchased this brand over a larger Chemex.
