What's the difference between the 2164 and 1138? They appear to be the same

Regarding the Clamping size, there is no difference between 1138 and 2164. They both have 1/4 - 20 threaded mounts. The articulated arm Is exactly the same length with both the 1138 and 2164. the only difference between them is the plastic ball-clamp used, the 1138 has a thicker and more polished-looking ball head section. The strength and function are identical in both. With less than a dollar difference in price, I'd choose the model 1138. Function and size are identical.

Will thia work to add a light source for the zhiyun crane plus?

It can, but will add weight of course with light to the gimbal but that's a great idea, I might put my lumen cube on my zhiyun crane as well

What is the smallest rail dose the go down to?

The gap measures 7/16” with the jaws touching so 1/2” diam rod is smallest diameter. They work great for attaching to mic stands!
