Considering A Repeat Purchase Despite No Immediate Need
For the past couple of weeks, I've been on the hunt for a new, albeit used, Thinkpad. My search has taken me through the realms of eBay and Craigslist, scouring listings for that perfect match. There have been quite a few contenders, appearances that seem promising. But therein lies the dilemma – if a purchase from eBay goes sour and a latent issue surfaces, the process of returns could be a tangled mess. On the other hand, venturing out to scrutinize a Craigslist find might yield nothing more than wasted hours and unnecessary fuel expenses. Then, a glimmer of inspiration struck – could the solution be found within the realms of Amazon's refurbished Thinkpad selection? It was a prospect that warranted exploration.Lo and behold, upon delving into Amazon's offerings, I was met with an astonishing revelation – the very Thinkpad model I had set my sights on was presented at a price point identical to those listed elsewhere. The remarkable part? Should the fates decree it a lemon, the straightforward return process was at my service. A mere 36-hour interlude stood between the point of purchase and the arrival of my potential treasure.A decisive click of the BUY button set the wheels in motion. Anticipation mingled with patience as I counted down the hours. And then, the moment arrived. With bated breath, I unveiled the carefully packaged laptop, akin to unearthing a precious artifact. The verdict? It bordered on perfection, an unexpected gem in the realm of online acquisitions.A triumph of a bargain, a transaction that couldn't have been more seamless. The experience left an impression so profound that, despite having no imminent need for another, I find myself gravitating toward the notion of a repeat performance. After all, when the stars align so impeccably, it's hard to resist the allure of securing another slice of this electronic serendipity.

What a machine!
For everyday work or school use it’s amazing. I wouldn’t use it for gaming. I use mine for my Resturant I’m very impressed.-Sounds is amazing.-Screen is great.-Keyboard is outstanding. & it lights up!-Easy to clean-I would buy a really good external mouse for it

Expect minor screen burn-in
I bought this to take to class and take care of minor tasks while I'm away from home, so, seeing as this device is not my main machine, it is perfectly adequate for this purpose. This product is listed as an "Amazon Renewed" product, and the description of that claims there will be no signs of wear or visible cosmetic imperfections when held at am arm's length. This did not prove quite true. There are no cosmetic issues with the casing or keyboard/input surfaces, however, the display has a half-inch blob of visible burn-in. The burn-in isn't nearly as bad as I've seen on other refurbished devices and it doesn't cause many reading or picture issues, but it's definitely noticeable across a room when flat colors are displayed. The display is 1920x1080, so if your eyes are a bit weak, it may become hard to read at 100% scaling, but this isn't a problem for me. The displayThe disk came with a working Windows 10 Pro installation on a master boot record partition table, so it was a bit of a hassle to add another OS on top of Windows because of the MBR partition limit. This device is fully compatible with both UEFI and legacy partition tables.I noticed the battery life is a bit short, but after some testing, I realized the issue was with Windows and not with the laptop, as Linux seems more optimized to handle the battery life. Other than this, there are no issues with the two batteries. Charging is quick.I haven't tested the fingerprint reader. The onboard WiFi/Ethernet works perfectly fine.External displays start to lag around 4K, and the external display I tested with could not display at 60Hz.The keyboard feels standard. The keyboard lights work as intended. The placement of keys is a bit different than other devices, but the layout makes sense.I have had no issues with the I/O ports. The touchpad works fine, but there was some visible leftover finger grease from what I can only assume is previous use. It came off easily.Ultimately, I am mostly happy with this product. As for the cosmetic issues, the few problems I have are easily forgettable and the device functions as described. I currently run Arch Linux with KDE Plasma and there are no software issues caused by the vendor.

Love it!
When my expensive Apple laptop died, I was complaining to someone at work that I didn't have the money to buy a replacement Apple computer. She told me that she had just bought a Thinkpad, one for each of her 3 children, and they loved theirs. I was hesitant to buy a refurbished laptop, but I have fallen in love with my Thinkpad. It looks brand new with a new power cord. i opened the laptop, signed into my google chrome account, and that's it! It's been the easiest transition ever. When my daughter needs a new laptop for college, I will buy her a refurbished Thinkpad, just like mine. Highly recommend!

Came with a blown speaker and an I7
Only giving 2 stars because it came with an i7 that is about 10% faster than the i5. Came with a blown speaker so bad you can’t use audio. Pretty disappointed.
