The little nub/circle in the middle has very little wood that holds it in place and it takes very little force to break it off. During normal use I think it would be fine, but if it were to take a tumble or a dog step on it, etc, it could be in trouble. The first time it broke, I was able to wood-glue it back in place, but the second time I gave up and replaced it with a different bowl. If you can be gentle wit it, it's a fine bowl that will work for you, but not for the likes of a chaotic house.

looks great keep in in view and have had a lot of great things said about it just right size

Received the item today and when I pulled it out of the box, there are 4 blemish marks and at the front there is no finish. Purchased to gift in a few days so there is no time for a replacement.

For a 9 inch wooden bowl I expected it to weigh more. It is only 15 ounces, so when you pull the yarn it slides all over the place. Useless - I have another smaller wooden yarn bowl that is much heaver and stays in place when you pull the yarn I love that one , so I ordered a larger one different company hoping I would like this one too. Doesn't feel like wood very light no weight to hold the bowl in place - moves all around not stable. I waist more time picking up bowl then just having yarn next to me with out bowl. Very annoying and useless.

I needed an extra bowl to have for multiple projects in process. This bowl is not smooth inside or out. It is definitely rough through the slotting area. I should have researched my history to find the large bowl I purchased a few years ago. This one is not the same as my first
