Sometimes it grinds or hisses. This is your sign that you need to BLOW IT OUT and vacuum. It means you have a dusry, nasty house. The ball bearings in this are cheap and more sensitive and delicate than the ones in the PS4 itself. You need to take care of it. If you take care of it, it won't break. The fan(s) itself/themselves are very good. The torque is low so that it's not stressing the air pressure environment inside the PS4. It does what it's supposed to do: It spreads heat further out. This makes the room hotter but allows your PS4 to work at peak for longer, since it's not surrounded by super hot exhaust right next to it. I have allergies so I have air purifiers in every room. I got used to white noise when I was 2-3 years old. I don't mind noise, I expect it, and I tune it out when I'm playing a game so that I only notice the game's audio. In other words, I don't give a flip about whether or not this product is noisy. I'd never notice it, it's already drowned out by the noise that's in the room. If you have super sensitive hearing or attention span then you might hate this. For me, I set it to High and Always On so it's just always creating the best performance possible. It's not magic but the effect of a unit like this isn't fake either. Game companies tweak their systems to be relatively quiet, and to try not to make the room too warm. This product makes the system louder and the room warmer. You're undoing Sony's tweaking and design by buying this. But it helps FPS. You basically can't have the best of both worlds where it's quiet and has improved thermals. That's just called owning a stock PS4. Buy this if you're okay with the tradeoff, and if you are willing to CLEAN THE FANS now and then. And please stop posting stupid reviews like "waah, waah, I bought something that blows air but I didn't realize that blowing air makes a sound!" Yes, moving air has another name: Sound Waves. Please stop saying ignorant things like "can I have sound waves without sound waves please". Anyone who passed elementary school science would know better, it's not the company's fault that they aren't literal gods who can alter the flow of physics.

My PS4 was overheating frequently playing Cyberpunk 2077 and almost guaranteed during certain cutscenes in Assassin's Creed Valhalla unless we put a box fan in front of the PlayStation. This auxiliary fan solved it completely. It hasn't overheated since I got it. Some complaints about the noise. I won't sugar coat it. when it kicks into high gear, it sounds like a small turbine. I don't mind it so much. It doesn't overpower the sound of the game. And it's generally during load times and cutscenes when it really spools up. I think of the sound as an indicator the console is running hot, don't push it right now. I do recommend a couple strips of clear tape to lock it to the PlayStation, in the past when cords got swapped around in the cabinet, it's been knocked off the back and wasn't cooling anything. Bottom line. If your system is overheating, and you don't mind some fan noise. This WILL solve your problem.

I'm giving this three stars because: A) it was pretty cheap B) the fans aren't securely tightly to the casing; leading to the blades hitting the edges after some time, and the only solution that works for me is to lightly move the blades around to not contact the walls. This solution lasts a fair amount of time for me, but it's not a perfect solution. C) I kept it on high all the time because I play all the time, and I didn't want to bother with the power setting. I bought this on 02/28/2021, and it's now 09/09/2021. One fan blade moves too much, so I taped it down. I have one other cooling fan, but this keeps the PS4 Pro from getting the system overheating message. Due to the efficiency, I am still glad I purchased it, but the sound is an issue. I hope this review helps inform your purchase.

I've never had an overheating issue on a PS4 Pro until I got Elden Ring and it happened fairly frequently, maybe 8 times in a week. This is with good ventilation around the system and everything, and the console had been dusted. It was still getting too hot. I got this snap-in fan and I've had zero shutdowns in the next week, even with substantially more play time. So it works, at least in terms of making Elden Ring playable without any shutoffs. The fan is very quiet because I think it's under-powered; it runs at 5V from USB and not something like 7V or 12V that would increase the RPM. But that said, apparently it is pushing enough air to keep the PS4 Pro cool enough so that's all that matters. It's was easy to install and feels secure, there's no rattling or vibration. Note that I could only get this to work by plugging the USB power cable directly into the console in the back; it didn't work when plugged into a different USB power source. I don't know why that is. I was trying to do this because I wanted to plug it into a USB voltmeter to see how much current it was using. Oh well. It has an "auto" mode where it only turns on if the PS4 gets hot and that seems to work very well; since getting it I've left it in Auto mode all the time with no problems. It can also be set to On or Off, but the switch is in the back so it isn't easy to change. Overall what can I say: it does exactly what I needed it to do. If you're experiencing thermal shutdowns when playing Elden Ring on a PS4 Pro I can confirm this will solve your problem.

After a few months of use the fans ramped up and stayed on turbo mode no matter what mode you put it on. Then a few months later of always running on full speed they slowly started going out one fan at a time. Now I don’t care about noise bc I have a hard time hearing as it is but fan on max speed are loud but very easily over looked so it didn’t bother me. But as for air flow it would suck air out really good at a high rate just after like 6 months of use it’s allrdy shot out so the build quality sucks but when it was working it worked very well as for shelf life I guess you get what you pay for right

Fit perfectly on ps4 pro. Barely had to use any force to snap it on there. I don't hear my ps4 trying to take off for the moon any more; yay! That's exactly what I wanted. It's not going to make your system cool, it's not magic. But its much, much, much cooler than it was, works great! Definitely recommend. I was weary to because of some people saying it doesn't fit, I saw a YouTube video even, it looked like maybe just a tab got made wrong, it happens, return it for an exchange, Amazon is usually really good to their customers. I only saw one bad video about the not fitting, tab issue. Everyone else, lots of videos, high marks! Side note: it is summer, I have fans running, I could hear my ps4 take off noise over my fans; this I cannot hear over my fans at all, if I do, its very minimal, as in, I don't notice it, or know it. So, if you have like a very quiet AC, you might be able to hear the 5 fans running. But, I've gone up to my machine a few times to check temp, feel the back & top and didn't hear anything, but my quiet cylindrical fan (those fairly quiet cooler fans.) But for those who live in really quiet environments, I wanted to be fair here.

So, why did we purchase this? The fan is loud! And the ps4 turns off. Overheats etc. Heres the problem. I've had it a few months, and unless you have a new ps4 or cleaned it up thoroughly, it will barely work. My ps4 still turns off. I even took the top off exposing the fan and that doesnt even help! Heres what really annoyed me. One day I turn my ps4 on (the cooling fan is set to on, so once my ps4 turns on it kicks up) and hear a buzzing. Like a saw or something. Really annoying! So I go inspect the cooling fan and one of the smaller fans on it is buzzing! Even more annoying than the fan it self. It really frustrates me. Idk man maybe try another one. I started to flick it , move it, pull it off and put it back on. And sometimes it shuts up and other times I just end up disconnecting the cooling fan cause it's just too annoying. That's all I have on this item.

Like the headline says i do feel like it's cooling down the PS4 Pro but noisy, probably from cheap fan bearings. So if your buying this for lowering the noise from your ps4 when fans are kicking in high speed that won't do the trick cause it brings you to the same points even a lil bit louder. But i got it for cooling down the console so i can deal with it. It does fit nicely, only had to use a bit of force to clip it in on one side while wiggling it up and down. It feels cheaply made which i expected and i don't have the feeling that it would last for years, i would like to be able to get those from a well known brand with a good built quality even if i would had to pay more but sadly they are all the same so...

Bought for my ps4 pro , ,fans are quiet and you can feel the air the air movement. Recommend

It works well as long as you don’t play a game that runs the machine hotter or it doesn’t work well at all.
