I'm so excited to try this test. I can't wait to find out what my body is missing so I can get on the right track for better nutrition for my body. This will be so helpful!! 10/10 would recommend.

My sample was lost in the mail, and I did not follow directions and take a photo of the tracking to find my sample. I was very thankful when Sherrie from 5Strands reached out to me to check on my sample. They were able to pull a sample from another test kit that I had purchased. I can’t explain how supported I felt and grateful I was to have the outreach and follow through!I will continue to recommend this to friends and family.

Results came in within a few days of them receiving my sample. This is going to sound made up but this is the truth. I couldn’t understand how to read my results so I called the number I found in the app. I figured I would get an operator or someone trying to push me off or sell me more items. I was wrong. I spoke with an extremely kind and patient operator who took the time to explain everything to me. I was on the line with her for at least 20 minutes. I have not yet put into practice what my results suggested I did as I am writing this review the day of receiving my results. But I am going to and will attach a new review in a month or two.

You are probably considering taking this test for one of two reasons:1) You want to see what your body is deficient in, so you know what foods to eat more of, or what supplements to take2) You want to be pointed in the right direction for what nutrients to look at for a more in depth blood testIf this describes you, then I am sorry to say this test will not help you.This test looks at your hair to determine what nutrients your body has been absorbing. You want the right balance of nutrients - not too much and not too little. Vitamina A, for example, is toxic if you have too much, and if you have too little your body will not function properly. So you take this test to see if you need more or less Vitamin A, and the test comes back saying "Severe imbalance in Vitamin A!" Oh no! Severe imbalance? As in too much, or too little? Well, it doesn't tell you. So do you need more Vitamin A in your diet or less? It doesn't tell you. So what should you do? It doesn't tell you."Ok", you think, "I'll just get a blood test and look at my Vitamin A levels." Unfortunately, according to the test itself, the numbers it gives you will not match a blood test, because the amount present in your blood may not equate to the amount in your hair.So what was the point of the test? Now you know you have an imbalance, but you don't know if you have too much or too little, and a blood test won't clarify anything for you.Don't waste $40 on this test for nothing.

Easy to use. Got the results back super fast. Showed the things I not absorbing well which coincides with what I already know about my health/diet.

Let me be clear it is a good product and it was easy to use and the results are helpful.This is not a vitamin and mineral test for finding out the amount of vitamins and minerals in your body, it is a test for what vitamins and minerals your body has a hard time absorbing.Just felt a little misled by the other reviews I saw saying they were deficient or not in certain minerals, this will not tell you it you are deficient it will just show which you absorb easily and which you don’t absorb easily. (This is because only a blood test can test what you are actually deficient in)However, this is useful and I will be cross referencing with a blood test if this accurately predicted vitamins and minerals that I have a hard time absorbing are also what I am in fact deficient in.(Felt misled and made me think some reviews aren’t real because other users specifically said they were measuring deficiency. Maybe they just misunderstood the results. Maybe I also made a mistake, so if the business reaches out to me and explains it I will change my review to 4 stars because I did have a good experience overall and I own a business myself and know my customers misunderstand things I say all the time)

Great customer service, fast results and shipping, results are a little hard to understand tho. Overall good test for the money.

All my life I was always conscious of what I ate and also took my multivitamins. I had no idea that my multivitamins weren’t really helping! It shocked me to learn that for some reason, my body wasn’t absorbing magnesium very well. And guess what, my multivitamin barely gave me the amount of magnesium that I needed! And when I researched foods, it was in most everything that I ate, but still no where enough what I needed to take daily. So I immediately bought a magnesium supplement…and believe me…I have never felt better! Who knew that I was low in magnesium probably my whole life. Now I’ve taken blood tests before, annually, when I see my doctor. Honestly, everything was excellent…. So lo and behold, being magnesium deficient was all I was. I am so glad that I found out. Now I want me whole family to try this, too! Everyone is built differently, so you really have to customize your diet in a way to truly be healthy. And this test was so quick and easy to do! Hope this can help others, too!
