Fits and starts great.
Fit perfect and has started my snow blower for two years. One note: use locktite on the bolts so it doesn’t vibrate ou

just like the original
Easy to change out the starter. This one seems to be identical to the original on my snowblower. The cord is just a tad longer, but that keeps it from rubbing on the cowling. Worked as advertised. Can't comment on the longevity at this point, but for price it's a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new snowblower.

It worked
This starter is what it is. The OEM that came with my MTD/YARD MACHINE 8 HORSE SNOW BLOWER,,©1995 made a smoother grinding sound when trying to start. This unit isn't OEM and not USA built. I bought this as an adequate part for 30yr old unit. This one adapted perfectly. It does work.

May not be an exact replacement but can be made to work.
The starter gear on my Tecumseh starter motor (37052A) was completely kaput (no teeth left!). The price on this replacement gear was reasonable and it was returnable if it didn’t fit so I ordered it. Shipping was prompt and within the predicted dates. Product was exactly as described. One of the reviews had mentioned that the plastic cap that protects the return spring mechanism might not fit properly on the replacement gear and I immediately found that to be true. I will need to secure the cap in some fashion. Using epoxy was mentioned but I’m unsure how well that will hold. Since the cap only covers the mechanism but doesn’t impact on function I decided to keep the part and “make it work”!Removing the damaged gear was a bit of a struggle. The retention ring at the end of the drive shaft of the motor doesn’t just “pop off”. I’m sure the manufacturer never intended the starter gear to be a DIY replacement. I was eventually able to pry the ring off. After that installation of the replacement gear was simple. I regreased the helical gears on the part that “throws” the starter gear into the flywheel before reassembly. Once all of the parts were back on the drive shaft the retention ring was “squeezed” back into the groove in the shaft. The collar that retains the return spring, starter gear and the part with the helical gear mechanism has a recessed channel that surrounds the retention ring and prevents it from coming out of the groove. I’m pretty confident that it will stay put. RE: the plastic cap, I’m hoping that if I can completely degrease the mating surfaces on the top of the gear and the inside of the cap, epoxy should hold it in position. We’ll have to see. There are repair kits available that allow for replacement of all of the components but are at or near greater than twice the cost. In my case, only the gear was damaged, so I didn’t go that route. The struggle with the retention would have been the same.Since I’ve yet to reinstall the starter motor on my snow thrower, I can’t report on the durability of the replacement starter gear. Time will tell. Based on the replacement part’s price, prompt shipping and the fact that it “fits”, I believe it has reasonable value and gave 5 STARS for that. 4 STARS for ease of installation (but it wasn’t the fault of the part). Overall rating of 4 STARS was due to plastic cap not fitting properly but would have given 4.5 STARS if possible. I recommend this part if you are mechanically inclined. If not, take your machine to a repair shop 😉.

Compatibility is a joke
Refer to pics of, so called, compatible snowblower starter #33329D. Pictured is the old mount and starter. I had to jerry-rig the new mount. Having to go to a machine shop to get a mounting bracket made flys in the face of calling it compatible. The harness is at least 2 inches too short. I'm still not sure this is going to work. Getting the starter Bendix gear to mesh up with the flywheel is almost impossible.

Well made but make sure it's the right part
Everything seems correct. Finish is ok and seems well-made.
