DAMN good night sights, DAMN good price.
Another great tritium sight from meprolight! Was simple and easy to install on my Mossberg shockwave, I didn't have to do any sanding or anything. Just a dab of loctite, screwed it in, and lined everything up. Fits flush with barrel both inside and out and looks great. White dot in high light contrasts well and is easy to pickup for quick and easy sight acquisition, and it glows nice and bright in low light. Have been running the meprolight true dot sights on my glock for over a year now and I am every bit as satisfied with this site as I am those. A cheap and essential modification for any home or self defense weapon. Thinking of putting another one on my NEF single shot for use while hunting.

Very nice sights. Put these on my S&W M&P Shield ...
Very nice sights. Put these on my S&W M&P Shield 9mm. Original sights were the tightest sights I've ever taken off. These installed relatively easy. Make sure you use a sight pusher. If you use a punch to put them in, you may likely break the small glass capsules that hold the tritium. These are very bright sights. Tritium is definitely the way to go and these are the cheapest true tritium sights I've seen. They are made to fit all the M&P guns. The Shield is the most narrow and these sights go all the way to the edge. Sometimes, you can catch the very corner of the sight with your hand when cycling the slide. It's not bad by any means, I just wish they wire a tad more narrow. If I was doing them again, I would likely take a small stone to the corners and smooth them some. Caught them when they were on sale for $66 and put them on my Shield 9mm. If they drop to that price again, I'm in for two more sets (hint to the seller).

Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy
What really surprised me was how easily the original factory bead on my Mossy 590 came off. A half twist with a wrench and it hand screwed off the rest of the way. The installation of the tritium light was almost as easy. It is made of metal. I dab of red Loctite and I hand screwed it into place. This left it about a quarter turn off center so using the sock and pliers trick other reviews mentioned, I straightened the alignment just right. There was about a half thread extending into the barrel which needed to be Dremeled down. Flipped off the lights in the room and the sight glows strong and clear. With the lights on, it's a bit harder to pick up depending on the background. As another reviewer suggested, putting a touch of glossy white paint may do the trick. Haven't had a chance to take it out to shoot it. If it holds up to the rigors of 00 buck, I will probably bump it up to 5 stars. In any event, it's a solid product and a great value for the price. EDIT: HAS HELD UP TO THE 00. SO RATING HAS BEEN BUMPED.

Defective Front Site
I purchased these sites for my S&W M&P 9mm about a year ago and loved them. So I purchased a second set for my wife's identical S&W M&P 9mm. I paid a professional gunsmith to install the sites. After bringing the gun back home, I realized the front site was not glowing anywhere near as bright as the rear sites, less than 20%. I contacted the seller, Primary Arms. They referred me to "The MAKO Group" (Meprolight). They sent me an RMA and indicated that I had to remove the sites, send them back to them, then they would send me a replacement if they agreed with my assessment. I was not happy with that arrangement so I contacted Primary Arms and explained the situation. However, they indicated that I had no other choice but to either go along with The Mako Group requirement, or, remove the sites, return them to Primary Arms, they would give me a refund, and I would have to place another order. In my opinion, they should send me another front site only and then allow me to return the defective front site. But instead, I now have to take the gun back to the gunsmith, have him remove the defective sites, ($20.00) install my OLD sites, send the defective sites back, place another order, and HOPE the new sites are not defective, take the gun BACK to the gunsmith and pay ANOTHER $20.00 to have the replacement sites installed. This is not acceptable to me, so I will be returning the defective sites and hope I get my money back. And then, start over and try to find a company that will stand behind their product and do the right thing for their customers. So just now, that if you do business here and are unfortunate enough to receive a defective product, you too will have to jump through hoops of fire in order to get the matter resolved. So bottom line, the night sites are awesome, when they work.

Great Tritium Night Sight
This is a great tritium sight, particularly for the price. I read a lot of the reviews, and it seems to me that most of the complaints about the brightness (or lack thereof) are due to a high degree of inexperience with tritium sights. I am a military veteran, and I can state for a fact that this sight is FAR brighter than the military issue tritium night sights for the M16A1 rifle. Tritium sights naturally appear as white dots in bright light, with the green glow only visible in low light or darkness. I have used them on various weapons systems for years. That is how tritium works. Tritium is a radioluminescent, low-energy, beta-emitting isotope with a 12-year half-life. The energy is so low, that in small amounts, such as a sight bead, the glow is not visible in daylight. If you want something that glows brightly in broad daylight, get an electronic dot sight or a fiber optic. My ONLY complaint is that the sight did not align correctly with the barrel, and the sight contained neither instructions on how to correct this nor the hardware (e.g. "shims") to do so. The issue was easily remedied by a small piece of electrical tape on the top of the barrel to shim it flush and a bit of blue locktite on the sight threads. After the final install (once all fitting was completed) I trimmed the electrical tape flush with the edges of the sight base using a razor knife. No issues, perfectly aligned, and hasn't shot loose yet, after numerous rounds of buckshot and slugs, to include magnum loads.
