Works great. Not any leakage at all.
Works great as temporary fix until I put in new pipes. Used this on 1/2 IPS water pipe that was at least 60 years old. Be sure to NOT have pipe thread in the joint. Don't be ignorant and expect any of the old pipe thread in the joint to seal. In other words, cut off the thread end of the pipes to coupled. Must be a clean smooth surface of the pipe so the rubber bushings will compress onto the pipe and not leak. This uses a rubber/neoprene bushing that compress onto the 1/2 NPT pipe. Note this is for 1/2 inch water pipe which has an Outside Diameter of about 3/4 inch.

Best compression fitting I've used
I had to replace a compression fitting that failed after 6 months. It was never sturdy as I would like, and had a small rubber gasket that failed. This tapered fitting is 10 times better than expected, and 100 times better than the old fitting pictured compression fitting sold at local home improvement stores. The pipe is sturdy with no flex, it has a substantial rubber gasket that fits in the tapered ends, along with a tapered metal washer that pushes the rubber gasket in place as you twist each end cap on making a tighter fit. I Included photos of the new fitting installed and the old fitting removed.

Dimensions issue
Item itself seemed very robust but it does not measure 1.25” ID. It’s over 1.5” ID. Even though the sticker says 1.25”. I needed this for plumbing a bathroom sink. Found what I needed at ace and it’s comically smaller than this. This is for an industrial application not bathroom plumbing.
