When I ordered my first Keyless Entry Code it was used, so I returned the package and was immediately sent out a replacement on the next business day. I didn’t do the set up the same day until yesterday, which was 2 to 3 days later, however, the key knob kept turning with the key and would did not unlock or lock , and I followed the example to a T and it still did not work. I’ve then proceeded to do a second return, and then I got a message that says “ How can we make this right,” so there were options recommended to contact support, watch a video, and etc) so I chose to watch the video. I decided to uninstall and start over by following the video and it turned out that I indeed had missed a step. After the set-up was completed, and I created my own personal Keyless Entry Code the door would not lock after entering the code, but the code was working. To my surprise, it turned out that when the door tried to lock after entering the code, the lock was hidden against the plate on the side of the door post when you lock your door so now I have to get someone to come in to fix that issue, but other than that if you follow the video, everything will work out fine. I am 100% satisfied with the results that I took the time to watch the video carefully to complete the installation. I’m glad that I did not give up and I kept trying and it was worth the trouble. 👍🏾👍🏾 that Plate was the problem and this was caused after I had my front door replaced years ago with a new door, so the issue was on my end. However, my experience was still amazing to me because I found out what the exact problem was , it was worth watching the video examining on my end to figure out what the exact issue was and why the code did not work after I said the code to lock the door. Try resetting the code again and come to realize and after watching the video a few times more , once you enter your four digit pin number that you create for yourself then you have to turn the knob/the key knob after intern your code to lock the door and then you repeat the same steps when unlocking the door. I replaced one of the "digital" style locks on our rehearsal studio door with this. The old lock had teeny tiny plastic gears that had to move the deadbolt for you, after you entered the code. Boooo. Hell on the batteries, and the weatherstripping insulation, which, installed right, pushes gently on the door to create a seal, was too much for that tiny little motor; in order to operate the lock, users had to pull the door fully shut. Well, after about 20 failures of the old lock, I searched this one out, and couldn't be happier. The only thing the code does is release the deadbolt, which you then simply turn with your own hand. This is not a "digital" lock - no remote control or monitoring, no network, nothing fancy. It's truly the replacement for a key in a deadbolt, except you don't need to give out copies of the key, AND you can change the "key" (ie code) in like 2 minutes. Install was fairly quick - I'd say 15-20 minutes. A little bit fussy, but no problems if you read carefully. The only thing I struggled with at all was swapping the larger plate that came on the deadbolt with the in-line version (which came with, but not pre-installed); it took more force than I expected, and I was worried I might break something. Also - I love the fact that you need a code to open it, but you can lock it by simply pressing the "Schlage" button when you're leaving. Who needs a code to lock a door? Plus, when you do lock, there's a nice 3-5 second window when you can be like "oh, shoot, I left my XXX inside" and you can unlock again. All in all - a very practical, viable lock. Here's hoping it lasts!

Easy to install and easy to set up. Everyone can make up their own 4 digit code that they’ll remember. No more lost or forgotten keys. Takes a little getting used to putting in the code and getting it unlocked before it times out but once you get the hang of it it’s easy to use. Schlage is a good brand and the lock works smoothly. Am very happy with it. Wish I’d done it sooner

Purchased this lock to reduce the need for a key and quick entry and exit. This was one of the few that we could get that matched the door handle without having to replace both the knob and deadbolt. It was fairly easy to install with two people and a phillips head screwdriver. We had to do some work with the strike plate to get it to fit but thankfully we had a grinder to move open it up enough. The only major complication was that the lock mechanism on the outside of the door hits exactly on the handle of our storm door. We have been able to work around it by turning the outside mechanism horizontally and it fits just over the storm door handle. We're replacing the storm door soon so it's not that big of a deal but that could have been an issue because you don't really notice that until it's fully installed. (Second pic shows lock horizontal so storm door can close all the way, third pic shows lock vertical preventing storm door from being able to latch. Overall pleased with the look, design, ease of installation (only using the directions in the box and not videos online), and ease of entry/exit from the home. We picked this one due to the brand and reputation. You pay what you get for and quality and reputation were important factors for us.

I locked myself out of my house a couple weeks ago and that was the final draw for me. I was flirting with the idea of buying one of these but was reluctant to pull the trigger. When I finally did the hardware was in very good condition and it was very easy to put together. I had to drill a hole in my door and was scared as heck but everything worked out fine, Side Note( You will need a 3/8 drill to accomplish this ). I highly recommend this product. I went with the gold finish because all of my hardware on my other doors are gold and I did not want my front door to be the odd ball; What can I say I am picky like that. I also didn't want the kind of keypad lock that works off of your home network. I work in the IT industry so I am weary about IOT (Internet of things) The combination instructions were very clear and precise. Buy this keypad lock because it is simple, functional, looks great, and will be worth it when you or one of your loved ones lock themselves out of your home. All of my family members have their own personal combination set up for them.

Purchased August 2024 due to prior lock (came with house) failing to unlock when turned (outside turning point just spins), seriously problem since it results in being locked out of your home. 21 months into owning this lock it has started failing in exactly the same way. Garbage in garbage out - I will be replacing this with a more expensive brand.

We have had our lock since mid July, so approximately 2 1/2 months now, and we absolutely love it. I thought that I wouldn't be able to install it without hiring someone more knowledgeable than me, but after reading through the installation guide, we were able to figure it out. It was surprisingly easy. We ended up programming several codes for hypothetical situations (what if my mom needs to drop something off but I don't want her to have our code so we can delete hers afterwards??) and that was also pretty easy. I love that you can program lots of codes into the lock - we tried to program different codes that would end up utilizing all of the different numbers to help with any wearing of the number pads. But really, after using the lock for more than two months, I can't even see fingerprints on any of the number pads. There are Schlage locks that will lock the door automatically when you press a "lock" button but this is not one of those. You actually need to turn the deadbolt after pushing the Schlage button to lock the door. I like this feature because we didn't have to fiddle with the lock too much during installation to make sure that it was lined up perfectly with the hole in the door jam. Yes, I need to pull my handle a little bit in order to make sure that the lock actually locks but I also know for sure that my door is locked. Also, I feel like manually locking the door will probably help the battery last longer since it isn't using energy turning the lock mechanism itself. Another thing that I like so much is when I arrive home late at night and my porch light isn't on, I just push the Schlage button and all of the numbers light up blue so I can easily unlock my door. I really recommend this lock to anyone looking to get rid of a house key.

I bought this item back in 2021 and it just now starting not work properly. After all the rain, snow, heat, sleet, and all other weather conditions, it finally began to fail. So I bought another one this week to replace the old one. It is outside and it works very well. I was not looking for Wifi or anything, just something to lock and unlock my gate. So I do recommend this product it has worked for me for 5 years before I had to buy a new one.

Purchased this Schlage unit to replace an older electronic deadbolt that had become really difficult to operate. I chose this particular one after much research as there are so many options on the market. I needed something that was reliable and easy to use without being overly expensive. This deadbolt was super easy to install. Directions were clear and it was easy to program. I think the whole process only took 20 minutes. It works great! I especially like that you have to actually turn a lever to ensure the unit is locked or unlocked. We have another different brand on the garage that uses a motor to open and close the deadbolt, and it often struggles - especially when it's really cold. this one is not problem. So smooth! I'd definitely buy this product again.
