Edimax EW-7438RPn Mini N300 Universal Wireless Wi-Fi Range Extender/Wi-Fi Repeater/Access Point/Wireless bridge with Ethernet Port, Compact Wall Plug Design

This brand was recommended by our solar company as we were having WiFi strength issues with our solar. I was struggling to get it set up with our quirky WiFi, but Judy at the manufacturer was so knowledgeable and helpful! She had seen something like the unusual issue I ran into with my WiFi provider with another customer and had perfect directions for what my WiFi provider needed to do. Thanks to her guidance, I was able to confidently let my wifi provider know what we needed, and when they did this, works great.

Ok, I am not a network engineer, I have a HP 2600 with no wi-fi, so I bought this to put it on my wi-fi network. As I have the EDIMAX BR-6258n about a year ago, and am using it as an access point to cover a dead spot in my wi-fi network, and it works fine, can stream video on my wife's iPad, and my tablet it works. Speed is not was good as when I am close to my main wi-fi router. While this is in use with my printer I can not give speedtests for this item yet. I will buy another to make it an access point just to try, at this price, well why not.My speed test for my EDIMAX BR-6258n I get a range fo 15 to 20 Mbps down and all three access points give 6 Mbps up. The best download speed is my main router at 20 to 30 Mbps, the free one from T-mobile only give 2 to 6 Mbps down, which might be because it has a long cat5 run, ???. In any case with the three access points I have access throughout the house, and my HP 2600 always prints using this Edimax EW-7438RPn.It was easy to setup, just as was my first EDIMAX BR-6258n was. I like this one better as it is all in one unit, while my first on has a 5 volt power pack.It even fits in the electric socket without blocking the other plug : )I will update when I get the second one, as this is a N300 I expect it to be as fast if not much faster than the 150Mbps earlier model. As the earlier model gives me plenty of speed I do not think I will upgrade it, just leave what is working where it is.

I tried this product as access point only. The setup was very straight forward. Did it in 5 minutes. I was using my old router as an access point with lots of lag and drop connections. This device so far had a good strength in wifi signal and good latency. No complaints so far. I was looking for budget option to improve my wifi signal and do far this little device is working great.Update: device stopped working about every 3-4 days but It was back to normal after I restart the device. I fixed this by going web page setup and schedule daily restart. For the money I still believe is 4 stars.

The Edimax would not establish a connection with my 11ac WiFi router 30 feet away through two dry wall-covered wood frame walls in my home. It connected when tested in the same room, or separated by one wall and 15 feet. Unlikemost of the competing products, the Edimax does not have external antennas which would result in comparativelylow receive signal strength. In this case, the signal attenuation of two walls and 30 feet was enough to make itunusable for its intended purpose. After fiddling with it for a couple of weeks I installed a similar product that does haveexternal antennas with satisfactory results.

Easy to set up. Easy to reconfigure. Works really well with incredibly strong strong signal strength. I use it to connect an old wired apex aquarium controller. Signal strength is -53 dBm to a distant access point which is fantastic.It is hard to find online support but you just need to do typical setup steps.1. Copy the url from the “Setup” barcode from the device.2. Plug in then press the button until the light blinks.3. Connect to the Edimax setup wifi network.4. Open a browser and go to the url from step 1.5. You should now be in a very clear guided setup.

4 days without wifi connection on my iMac. Apple appt made and dragged my desktop to the store only to determine my logic board part that "connects" to wifi is bad. $600-$700 repair and days of my iMac being in the shop OR they suggested to call this company in California and get this product! Spoke to customer service tech support yesterday and Judy walked me through and suggested this item to bridge my internet around my issue and directly into the unit (basically bypassing my bad logic board)! I ordered it and it arrived today! $20!!!!!! I followed the directions but wanted to call them back today just to verify I set it up correctly and again, Judy, actually answered the phone! A live person who actually assists you, who is very knowledgable AND professional and EXTREMELY patient and kind! This experience with both Apple and this company was the best customer service I have had in a very long time! Best $20 I ever spent! I HAVE INTERNET AGAIN! ***** 5 STARS! Thank you!

Ya tiene mucho que lo compre pero me sirvió por un buen tiempo, hay mejores opciones de la.misma compañía sin embargo lo recomiendo.

Recibí el producto y vía ethernet no pude configurarlo en modo puente, porque la app a la que te dirige el código qr que viene con el producto no permitía el cambio en la configuración. Lo estuve intentando una semana y nada, una decepción.

Ripete la connessione, avevo il problema che nel piano terreno non arrivava la connessione, visto che Internet viene da un cavo sul balcone. Con questo acchecio ho risolto. Consiglio questo che ha anche il cavo, nel caso che serve per il PC ecc.

This product is really better than I thought it was. Works better than a commercial WiFi router and UI and Configuration is really easy and feature rich for this price range. Puts other WiFi devices into dust. Good Product and Good seller. Keep it up

I bought this thing for it's access point function (my glass fiber modem doesn't have wi-fi).Plus i hads a 2nd reason i bought it : - the button that reduces radiation by 75%.I live in a 2 story 3 bedroom apartment and i have put this thing in the middle of my house and i have reception everywhere on my android smartphone. Of course not 5ghz everywhere - it has less range then 2,4ghz and like i said i let the thing radiate at 25% - but 2,4ghz is also ok for me.
