Is the Cabeau evolution S3 better than the original Cabeau evolution?

Yes, the Cabeau Evolution S3 neck pillow is an improved version of the original Evolution Pillow. The S3 has a new Seat Strap System that allows you to attached the pillow to the head rest wings on an airplane seat and effectively keeps your head from falling forward or to the side. The cover is made from an upgraded quick-dry material for more breathability and improved comfort, and it now has with a zippered side pocket to old your phone or small items. Plus, the new S3 travel pillow includes a much improved travel bag with a zipper closure and plastic clip to attach it to your backpack or luggage. All this for the same $39.99 price as the original one.

Does the evolution S3 that is listed have the newer, upgraded zipper on the storage bag or the old style zipper that everyone is complaining about?

The Cabeau Evolution S3 now has an upgraded and improved zipper for its compact travel bag. The defective bags have been replaced on all Amazon units.

Does the S3 push your neck forward? I’ve used other travel pillows and they are very thick in the back area, pushing your neck and head forward...

Did not push my head forward. Its very thin in the back in order to prevent that from happening. I love this neck pillow.

Can this be placed into a compression back to help save space?

Yes, the Cabeau Evolution S3 can be placed in a compression bag for short periods while traveling, as long as it is not exposed to extreme heat or cold. The pillow should also not be packed in the compression bag for long-term storage (weeks, months, or years).
