IT WORKS VERY WELL
I have had my Katchy for more than three years. I was introduced to it in Vietnam when i was visiting family. I was very impressed and came back to the US and bought one myself. IT WORKS VERY WELL. It is best at catching small flies, gnats and great at catching mosquitos. I have found that it does not catch house flies well, but they don't really bother much. I even took it with me when I went to Africa for over a year. It really kept the mosquitos down. I know that people have said many negative things about this, but from my perspective almost all of what they complain about is user error or expectations that are unrealistic. Keep the sticky cardboard changed and place the Katchy in an area near an entrance or where it can be seen clearly by the little flying buggers. I like my Katchy.

2 Years Later And It Still Works
This product is the only thing that actually works to catch bugs in the house. Prior to getting it, I'd tried everything to remove those tiny pests from my home, from DIY solutions to the best rated bug catchers I could find, and the most I ever snared was one fly. Then I stumbled across this. I've had this product running in my house on automatic mode (which means it switches on when the light in the room gets dark enough) since September 2022. It's now October 2024. This thing *lasts* and it absolutely obliterates the bug population! I love looking into the bottom at all the bugs stuck to the sticky pad, knowing they're no longer trying to get into my eyes, food, and reptile enclosures. A few things I have noticed over the last two years of use: 1. It does take a few days for the bug population to go down once you first set the device up. I live in a two floor home with a basement and while the flies do get everywhere, they're concentrated primarily around the kitchen trash so the device is on the kitchen counter near the trash. One device has been enough for my home, although a larger infestation, or one concentrated in multiple areas, may need more than one device. 2. Use manual mode with caution. I'm not sure if the bugs develop some sort of resistance to the light of the device if it's on all the time, but in my experience they stop being attracted to it when I use manual mode. If you set the device to automatic and let it turn itself on and off, however, it will continue to attract flies for years to come. So, if you do decide to use manual mode, pay attention to when it stops attracting bugs and don't just leave it with the light on all the time. 3. Pay attention to the number of bugs caught and the general stickiness of the pad at the bottom. Once it's no longer sticky, it will stop catching bugs and when the device turns off, they'll be able to fly right back out. How often you need to change the pad really depends on how many bugs are in your house and how dusty your house is (since dust can also get on the pad). Good luck, fellow fly fighters! May your quest to clear your home of tiny tyrants be as successful as mine has been!

No Katchy Katchy I caught 1 fuite fly in 10 days, all but 1 of them are still annoying me
No Katchy Katchy, no worky. I have fruit fly's around the Kitchen sink and a plant across the room. I set it up near the sink for a week, right where they all like to fly around and annoy me, and it caught 1 fruit fly, I think it was by luck alone. Then I set it near the plant for a few days and it caught zero. I tried it in auto mode at night only, and I let it run 24/7 I don't think the blue light is attracting them, they don't seem to want to go near the thing, even though they can sit on fruit or a plant right next to it. I was hoping it would work but I guess its back to the drawy board to find something else that Katchee's fruit flys.

Great unit! But a better way to clean the fan area is needed!
This is a powerful product that does its job extremely well. I've tried many different ways to deal with fruit flies, but nothing is as effective as this unit. It was so effective I got a second one, because we keep fruit in two different areas in our kitchen. I also bought one for my very elderly mother. The automatic setting is great, and when it's quite warm and we have not just fruit but farm stand tomatoes in fairly large quantities, I leave it on all day. It catches more than just fruit flies, too. Pantry pests, moths, flies - there are a variety of bugs that get caught in it! I would give it 5 stars if it were easier to clean. The tray that holds the sticky trap is easy enough to deal with, but the fan screen inside the unit under the light is ridiculously difficult to clean. I've been reluctant to remove the interior screws to remove the electric part of the unit for fear that once I do it won't work properly afterwards, so I use a variety of narrow implements to scrape out the dusty gunk that settles oni the grill and fan grate. But it's ridiculous to have to do this! It should be fairly easy to enable the top part of the unit to open, enabling a proper cleaning. The unit can't do its job if air can't flow through it! Apart from that, it's a very useful and easy to use item that we rely on nearly all year.

Works Like a Charm and Worth Every Refill
I love this thing. I bought two a couple of years ago and they’ve been running ever since. I’ve already had to repurchase the sticky pad refills because they catch so many bugs. Setup was simple, and I leave them on automatic mode so they kick on at night. You really notice the difference, far fewer gnats and mosquitoes around the fruit bowl or kitchen. They’re a little pricey, sure, but the peace of mind and cleaner home make it worth it. Bottom Line: Quiet, effective, and long lasting. A bit expensive, but totally worth it once you see how well it works.

Doesn't last
Worked great for the first few months. Caught everything in the room. Then...... it started to smoke and emit the smell of burning plastic..... So.... it works for a little while but doesn't last

I had issues with tiny flies in my flat and this works perfectly. I put it in the kitchen area and it automatically flicks itself on at night, then hums quietly and glows while it does its work. After a few days use I have no flies zipping about and they’re stuck in the bottom on the paper. I’ll keep it running though just to make sure they don’t come back and the population builds up again.

I had two of these in Florida and they worked great! I bought one in the EU for 4x the price but it isn't as powerful and doesn't work as well. A big disappointment. (Also had to buy an adapter to plug it in)
