YONGNUO YN50mm F1.4 Standard Prime Lens AF/MF 0.45M Lens for Canon DSLR Camera

I was worried about buying from this brand. I just recently bought a Sigma 30mm F1.4 ART and that works wonderfully, silent, fast, beautiful pics, and EXPENSIVE. So I'm comparing Yongnuo 50mm F1.4 to that. At just a tad over 1/3 the price of the Sigma, it has beautiful pics, it's not silent, but it's pretty fast. It focuses where it's supposed to. It's crisp, crisper than my old old old Canon 50mm F1.8. So, for the price, I'm very happy.

It’s very sharp and creates beautiful creamy bokeh. For an amateur or enthusiast it is a great affordable lens. Autofocus is slightly slow but works. Some people find it noisy during autofocus; personally I don’t find the noise bothersome at all. Very happy with my purchase...

This is an excellent lens, especially for the price. It's heavy though, and noisy. Also, the focus ring feels very "plasticy". But those are things I can live with, considering it costs less than half the price of its Canon counterpart. Pictures are clean and sharp. Would definitely recommend.

This is not as sharp as the Canon 50m 1.4 and it's larger but overall wasn't a bad lens. Mine had manufacturing problems and did not autofocus consistently so I returned it.

I am very pleased with the performance. The quality of the build seems very nice (aluminum threads, seems heavy). Focuses well and produces nice bokha effect. Need to keep playing with it to really get a good feel for its capabilities.

I'm using this lense on a Cannon T5. Pros:*Image color accuracy is really good.*Image clarity is great when you manage to get a good in focus shot.*Cost. This lense cost a fraction of what the cannon 1.4 50mm lense cost.Cons:*size/weight. This lense is bulky and heavy!. It will tip your camera over if you sit it down.*Autofocus struggles in all lighting. I took around 200 shots so far with this lense and only 5 images came out sharp and focused at F1.4. Shooting at F1.8 produced more consistent quality shots. Shooting at F1.4 have been a major fail. It just can't focus. I would normally say that maybe my camera might be a part of the issue, but my Yongnuo 50mm F1.8 nails 98% of the shots I take. I want to give this lense another shot(no pun intended) but I am skeptical as I'm not seeing great reviews on the net.

Excellent lens I would have paid more

Love this lens for the price. I have one complaint. Why do cheap lens not come with a lens hood?! Hoods are essential to protecting from damage as well as flare. They are part of the lens and should be included. At the very least there should be a way to easily find which lens hood to use with this particular lens. I know there is one available somewhere so help with that would improve my review of this company and lens.

It is affordable, it focuses accuratey on my Canon 70D (once I had dialed in AF micro-adjustments).It is great for portraiture and while it might not be the sharpest lens ever when used wide open, it is sharp enough for my use cases.My only nitpick is that resistance to glare in contra lighting is not that great (my two copies of Canon's 50mm F/1.8 mark I are not that great either on that front) . This might have been less of an issue with a hood, but I do not own one .At the end of day, it is worth it, in IMHO .

A little slow to focus

It won't work anymore after 3 months of use. Says 0.0 and shoot an error code, on my body. I wouldn't recommend. Better off buying a used 50mm off of your local Kijiji or FB Marketplace
