It works pretty well.
When putting a chicken on the BBQ rotisserie, it is always impossible to get it evenly balanced. With this, it makes it much better. I do notice that the bird does shrink when cooking and that throws off the balance, but you should be able to use this to adjust it during the cook time.It was initially a bit hard to figure out how to get this on the rotisserie so that it didn't hit part of the BBQ. It's length could cause it to hit the bottom of the BBQ. Nothing that removing the briquettes or grate couldn't fix. I only needed to remove the grate, so not that big a deal. Once you understand how to adjust the weight (whether the large weight should be higher or lower or closer to the chicken or further from it), it becomes easy to use.

Does not fit a Lynx rotisserie out of box.
I have Lynx rotisserie. Lynx does not make a counter weight. I got this as it fits a 1/2 inch hexagon or cylinder. Well, it turns out, no pun intended, that the Lynx rotisserie rod is .54 inches so this did not fit out of the box. I slapped it in a vice, took a 1/2 inch bit and bored it out just a bit. It took about 60 seconds to shave off the inner diameter. It now slides on easily and works great. This is a heavy stainless steel weigh that will counter the average off center bird.

You need this
Really helps with the functionality of a rotisserie that doesn't have one

Balance the load for a smooth turn of the spit
I read somewhere (Weber probably) that this counterweight is unnecessary overkill. But heavy meat on the rotisserie tends to sag on the spit as it cooks, leading to an imbalance that gets worse as the meat becomes more tender. This counterbalance keeps the meat from flopping over every revolution and falling away from the spit with every turn. The motor doesn't have to strain to get the meat over top dead center and then catch the load as it descends to bottom dead center. Sure, you may not actually need this item to get a good grill, but it is helpful enough it's worth the small price.

Keep looking
Does not work for 9/16 rods, can not tighten further due to short on threads.

Easy to use
I like the way it attaches and the weight of it.

Not what I was hoping for.
Item arrived timely. My issue is the the screw threads used to go through the ring and secure the weight to the spick do not fully secure it. The ring doesnโt hold and the weight and lever will just hang down on the spick without supplying any counterweight.
