A good, compact overview of the Jacobite conflict.
This book presents a compact overview of the Jacobite uprising of 1745-46. Although it is a UK Government-sponsored publication, I found it reasonably even-handed. 250+ years and the demise of the direct Jacobite heirs two centuries ago tends to let people put things in perspective - and bring the strong British tradition as military historians fully to bear. If you want a detailed history of the conflict, I recommend Christopher Duffy's book on the conflict. But if you are looking for a quick overview, this is a good choice.

A Warrior Poet
Michael Hook's book is absolutely off the hook. It prompted me to delve down into the depths of my soul and allow pent up emotions to sweep me up and carry me to the shore of my heart. Once again i would like to reiterate Michael Hook's book is off the preverbial hook!!!
