CHEAP BUT WORKS
I picked-up this foldable saw to take backpacking with me.It is more effective that carrying an ax...and MUCH LIGHTER.It folds away to reduce it's footprint size. What I did not like about it was:1) It was a bit cheaper than I thought2) When folded, it has these two metal prongs/horns that stick out from one end. Evidently they are there to prevent the blade from swinging left & right when in the open position. But then again, it was super inexpensive...and IT WAS light.I filed "some" of those metal prongs down a bit. (but not too much), as they can tear holes in my backpack. I also make sure to place it into my backpack, smooth-side down, so the prongs do not poke holes where they make contact with my backpack. The saw is also wrapped in a light nylon cloth...one again, to protect my backpack.Overall, it does what it is supposed to do. It cuts well. It is light, and it has a smallish footprint.Almost perfect for my backpack. And with a few tweeks...I am now comfortable taking it with me wherever I backpack to.

This saw performed better than good, EXCELLENT!!!!
I was looking for a spare camp/survival/hiking saw for cutting and processing wood. I saw many other more expensive saws that I looked at first but did some research and decided to try this one. When I got it I put it to use on some small dead ceder trees, about 4 and 5 inch thick, and it worked well, in fact very well. I did have my doubts at first because the blade is thin but it is strong and does not bind up when cutting. the other thing was that they market these saws at wal-mart under the ozrak trail brand so I thought the quality might be poor but not in this case. The saw handle is black plastic not brown as seen in picture but that does not take away from the performance and the blade has a locking lever on it that locks the saw in place. For the price you get a excellent saw.The only thing I had to adjust was the tightening of the blade, it was not lose or anything but all you need is a flat head screw driver to adjust it to your liking and you are good to go. For this price minor adjustments to me were not a big deal because this saw can cut real good and does the job it is designed to do.Lastly I have a bacho laplander saw that cost me $25 and I can get 2 of these that cut just as good for the price of one bahco. I still love the bacho but 2 of these for the price of one, with excellent cutting performance, it would be worth the money to get a couple because they get the job done.

Super Sharp! Light Weight! Folds! Buy this!
I bought this on 9/3 and it arrived 9/5! Yay for Prime! The saw's packaging is basic and there's some usage and safety info printed on the backside. For example, this is a PULL saw. Meaning that it cuts on the pull action, not the push action. I gave it a try on the dense cardboard box in which it arrived. Clean slice with minimal effort on my part! The blade seems strong, however, I will be sure to keep it dry as I am not sure of it could rust. There are two rows of super sharp teeth and each tooth is about 1/8" wide at its base. The handle has a wide hole to put a strap through. The handle is light weight plastic. Very light weight. I like this because it will be easy to put in my 72 hour bag. The handle is also very smooth so I may add some roughness to it somehow to increase grip ability. I feel that the handle is sturdy and is long enough to give a good wide grip. As a side note, when it's fully extended with blade and handle this could definitely double as a decent self defense item if the situation presented itself.Between the blade and the handle is a metal locking mechanism. It's not self-locking - pop into place on its own. You actually have to push down on the lock and get its hook over the little metal lip on the top of the blade. Pretty simple endeavor. The handle does have a hallow portion in its lower side for the blade to slide into. HOWEVER, the blade does not totally stay there UNELSS it is strapped in by something YOU ADD to the saw. Safety first! So you will want to do something to get the blade to fully stay in. This is why it only gets 4 stars from me. My remedy was to use a light weight, but strong small Velcro strap that is FIRST anchored to the handle's hole. Then, I take the end of the strap and wrap it around the handle and the blade thus securing the blade into the handle's storage slot. When the blade is let out, then the strap will dangle, but not fall off as it is first secured to the handle's hole.I would buy again. I do recommend.

Best folding saw I’ve ever used
I’ve been using these for over 10 years. Most others on the market are poorly made and barely last beyond a few uses. These are extremely durable, have a very easy but aggressive cut and never seem to wear out. I love the locking mechanism for the blade - very sturdy and safe. I recently cut a 200 yard utv trail through 1-3 inch trees and limbs in an afternoon using nothing but this saw. This is my go-to backpack saw for bow hunting. The only reason I buy new ones is if I want to give one as a gift. They do not wear out or dull. Can’t recommend them highly enough. You will not be disappointed.
