Great Y-cable
Perfect for people who want extra storage for their Wii U.I use a Seagate 1TB portable HDD, and the cable makes it as good as the console's hard drive itself. The reason why you would need this for a Wii U is because it makes the external storage faster, and have more power — preventing crashes.Definitely a must have for anyone who still likes the Wii U

Good product and good help from Mr Chen.
Mr. Chen recommended the cable in helping me setting up my Karaoke system. It works well. I am most grateful to his invaluable help that is rarely available elsewhere.

Excellent little cord for an excellent little price
This was bought as an alternate power source for a portable harddrive. It works perfectly and the build quality is outstanding for the price. Would recommend. Currently powering a portable 500GB HDD attached to a console. No troubles so far.

Pay attention to the tips to this cable.
Works great for backward compatibility with USB 2.0, which is what I got them for. Thje single USB 3.0 port is strong enough to power older portable monitors.

Top quality construction. Cable too short for desktop towers, but fine for laptops.
Good quality, works as expected, drive mounting and data transfer proceed without a hitch. Connections are firm and tight.Overall length is a bit too short for use with a desktop computer - it leaves the hard drive dangling. Not ideal, even with a lightweight 2-1/2" drive. The clunky but serviceable workaround is two USB extension cables, or better yet a powered USB 3 hub. Perfectly suited for a laptop, Mac Mini, or the like. On an iMac, it can rest on the desk within about a 10" radius of the ports.Note that the first USB-A plug is USB 3, the second (presumably for power only) appears to be USB 2. You could put the second one into a cheap, powered USB-2 hub, saving a USB-3 port on the computer for data. The cable needs to be about 8" longer overall, or maybe it should be two products, for laptop and desktop environments.

Works great for Wii U in 2022
I was on the fence about buying this cable for a long time, but I'm glad I finally did. This cable is absolutely necessary if you are still rocking the WiiU this long after the death of the system. The WiiU had an abysmally small internal drive that could barely hold any games. I got by with an old thumb drive for a while, but I finally got tired of dealing with it and splurged on this cable and a Maxone portable HDD, and they work perfectly, and won't break the bank.If you've done any research on HDDs for the Wii U, you'll know that all of the recommended ones are either super expensive at this point, or are all out of stock. I can affirm that this cable and that Maxone HDD do indeed work for the WiiU, and I've been able to load several WiiU games on it.Just note that in order to use the HDD with the official WiiU firmware, it does have to be formatted to work with the WiiU, and it will only be readable by the WiiU. If you had other plans for what you'd store on this HDD (say, games that were strictly for the onboard virtual Wii or vWii using any kind of unofficial Wii homebrew), you will need another secondary HDD or SD card for that. But for games downloaded for the soon to be defunct WiiU eShop, or any WiiU game installs (such as the girthy Xenoblade Chronicles X install) this combination is perfect.

Good use
I like it, it does the job well and the length is a little short but that fine
