I just bought my rims a couple of weeks ago .. which wheel do I need just to clean them up good and not do the stuff?

Fits tools with 5/8" arbor. Most of the time a 2" extension is needed with the Dewalt and Makita polishers/grinders. I used Zephyr CFPREX 2" Airway Buff Extender Kit.

What buffing wheel and compound is best for aluminum diamond plate?

Late to the party on this question. These will work fine its more about having to cut in multiple directions then which products you need. What products you need will depend on what condition the diamond plate is in.
