This has become my favorite way to cook rice. 🍚
This has become my favorite way to cook rice. It cooks up to 3 cups of uncooked rice in about 20 minutes, and as long as you measure the water correctly, the rice comes out fluffy and perfectly cooked every time. The biggest reason I bought it was the stainless steel inner pot is I wanted to avoid non-stick coatings, and this one has been great. The only downside is that a little rice sticks to the bottom after it’s done cooking. That’s expected with stainless steel, so it doesn’t bother me enough to take away from the overall experience. It’s simple to use, switches to Keep Warm automatically, and has been incredibly reliable. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a stainless-steel rice cooker.

Versatile, easy to clean
I've had my pot for several years now. It's not automatic but it is very versatile. I use it when I travel as well as at home. I boil water for my tea, make oatmeal in it. I've even made grilled cheese sandwiches in it and scrambled eggs. of course I've made rice and cooked vegetables and every morning I make a cup of golden tea, which is a little bit of water, milk, and turmeric. I like it because it boils the milk gently, and according to Ayurveda, the milk needs to be boiled for a few minutes. This is one of the best purchases I've made in the past few years. It ranks right up there with my instant pot, which I couldn't live without, because I am disabled and primarily bedridden so I can't stand up in the kitchen and use the stove. It's also easy to clean. Good quality stainless steel is easy to clean no need to poison ourselves.

Aroma Rice Cooker - Would Recommend - Works Great
I have an old rice cooker/veggie steamer that I received for Christmas many decades ago that still works great. But the inner liner(or pot) is 100% aluminum. And we know that aluminum has been linked to Alzheimer’s. So now that I’ve switched to a Whole-Foods Plant-based diet/lifestyle, I eat tons more whole grain brown rice. The inner liner of the Aroma Housewares rice cooker is stainless steel! Score! And it cooks brown rice perfectly!! It is as simple and easy to use and clean as the old one. Measure the rice with the included cup & wash the rice. Place it in the pot. Fill with broth or water or a mix of both with the same measuring cup. Place the cover on. Plug it in. Push the button down to cook, and 30-40 minutes later you have perfect rice! You simply add extra liquid (1/2 to 3/4 cup) than normal white rice and let it sit on warm after the timer ends to give it more time to cook. You just have to experiment. The first time I cooked whole-grain brown rice per the chart and recommended water, it was just slightly chewy. So per the instructions I just added a 1/2 cup more water and left it sitting on warm. That did the trick to finish cooking till it was just perfect. The second time, I added more water than the first time and let it sit 10 minutes after the timer ended. Perfect rice! I haven’t cooked quinoa or barley yet. But they are in the cooking chart in the book it came with. I can’t wait to try cooking other grains! Update: Now that I’ve used this rice cooker for a couple months, and about 6-8 times, to cook long-grain brown rice, I can say it’s a great cooker. And I saw the other reviews that complain about the cooker spewing water everywhere. That DID happen to me the very first time I used it. But after that, it never happened again even when cooking more than I did that first time. The first time I only used 2 cups of uncooked brown rice, and yes it did spew and starchy gloppy water went everywhere. It boiled over. But the next time I used it, I placed it in my sink anticipating a mess. I cooked 3 cups uncooked the second time, and NO MESS. The next time (3rd time) I placed it on my counter with a triple layer of paper towels underneath it, and again - no mess! So maybe it is some sort of coating that is scrubbed or cooked off, after the first use. Yes I did wash the inner pot when I unpacked it, before first use. So that may be the reason. But I’m here to tell you it hasn’t happened since. I highly recommend this rice / grain cooker. It’s perfect!

This is a great little rice cooker
This is a great little rice cooker. The 3-cup size is much smaller than you might imagine, but it works perfectly for two people. We only cook 1 cup of uncooked rice at a time, and it makes two nice big portions in a short amount of time, especially white rice. It might be enough rice for three people but not four. The warmer feature is nice, but I wish there was an off button or an auto-shut off feature after a couple hours. You have to unplug it to turn it off. We frequently forget to unplug it right after serving, but thankfully it makes a little "click" noise intermittently while still warming and that helps us remember to unplug it. The stainless steel is great. The rice actually sticks less than our old, worn out "non-stick" rice cooker from Oster. It takes a bit of elbow grease to clean, but it does clean up nicely. There is absolutely no plastic or non-stick coating in contact with the food, which is a huge plus for us. Even the screws to hold the handle on are just metal, presumably steel. The handle on top is plastic, but it doesn't get in hot or come in contact with the food. The steel looks and feels like it's of a good quality. Some of the watery starchy goo bubbles out and onto the lid but it's never gone down the sides, just on the lid. It does let out a good amount of steam, so it's best to have it an open area, not under a cupboard or very close to anything hard to clean. I used to keep my coffeemaker right next to it, and it would get a bit of a film on it from the starchy steam. It's much easier than cooking rice on the stovetop and pretty hard to go wrong. We've cooked American long grain white rice, basmati rice, and brown rice in it. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to quickly and easily make one or two good portions of rice.

Great little rice cooker. If the switch fails, fix it yourself!
If you aren't incredibly picky about your rice, this cooks a consistently good batch every time. The standout is definitely the stainless steel pot; it’s durable and much safer than cheap non-stick coatings that scratch over time. Quick tips: Remove the pot from the cooker as soon as it's done to avoid over-cooking at the bottom. Also because it’s stainless steel, rice will stick a little bit to the bottom. Just let it soak with hot, soapy water for a bit and it cleans up easily. One flaw that seems to be common from other reviews: For me after two years, the switch no longer switched to "cook" mode, only "warm". The lever would mechanically lock down, but the light would stay orange for "Warm" and refused to switch over to the red "Cook" light. If you are even slightly handy, try fixing it yourself! Remove a few screws from the bottom and buy a new KW-16 (16A 125/250VAC) microswitch for $3-6 and it will function as good as new! A shame though that Aroma seems to have used a cheap, unreliable switch in the first place.

Dang good.
Normally used my instant pot for rice. But after awhile of cooking main dishes in it and still wanting rice as a side I bought this. Love that it doesnt have a non stick coating. Yes rice sticks to the bottom but not much. I just empty it and pour some water in it and leave it in the sink over night. The next morning it dumps right out with almost no scrubbing or scraping. I purchased a steel rice cup and a better rice spoon as the ones that come with it are a little cheapy.

Great product as long as you get one that works right out of the box
(5 stars as long as you have a working switch on your product.) Bought as a "used" product from amazon warehouse deals. Product was complete, new in original packaging. HOWEVER, Clearly the reason it was in the warehouse for discount sale was because it was DEFECTIVE! The switch mechanism would not work. Would not hold in the "on" (cook) position when lever was pressed as it is suppose to & would pop right back to the warm position. However, fortunately I had the understanding & know how to make appropriate adjustments to fix magnetic switch lever & shortly had it working properly. Bought this product to replace my old non stick Aroma rice cooker which the coating was badly peeling off of and had a pot made from aluminum. Happily, found out that this new stainless steel pot was actually the same exact size pot & lid as my old cooker & fits in my old cooker as well! Which means my old steamer & lid & cooker are all usable parts still! I am taking a chance & buying another warehouse deal of these so that I can have another to use. I have wanted an extra pot to cook in while one is stored in the fridge & a second one would be great. I wish I had known about & had one of these years ago. I really like this product. It is simple but effective. You can cook as little as one cup of rice in it at a time or much more. I wanted a larger pot because I use it for far more than rice. It makes oatmeal quickly & so easily. Other uses include, pasta, potatoes, soups, vegetables, shrimp, hotdogs, etc... Anything you might put in a pot on the stove to boil, you can make in this cooker. The bonus is, if you happen to walk away because of a phone call or interruption & forget you are cooking, once the water boils off, the bottom of the pot warps slightly from the heat, pulling away from the magnetic switch & the cooker switch releases turning the cooker to warm mode. Therefore the bottom of the pots contents only browns slightly but does not burn. The stainless steel with just a slight browned food stuck to it is much easier to clean than stainless with burnt on food!! Plus, in the warm mode, I can slow cook soups & other things in the pot for a whole day or more. I just cover the lid a bit more w/ a towel to keep the heat in better for slow cooking. I was happy with my first rice cooker from Aroma & thought it was a great invention, only I wished it wasn't a nonstick coated aluminum pot. In all of my other cooking I only use steal & cast iron & was not happy to have to use aluminum & non stick coating because of all the characteristic problems as well as health concerns with those materials. I was happier to find they offer it with a stainless steel pot!! Same great cooker made even better!! Plus the stainless steel pot "should" last for years & years longer then the previous aluminum not stick pot. I recommend this product to all my friends.

Good Quality but not Quantity
Quality is surely pretty good but quantity of cooked rice is limited barely for two persons.

WRONG PLUG FOR EU
This cooker is advertised in the Dutch Amazon store but does not come with a plug that fits European outlets. It is an American plug.

This rice cooker has been so good to me TuT <3
I bought this on Nov 2019, writing this review May 2021 I am still using this, and still love it! The machine part has been working perfectly, but that's not a big milestone - BUT! The bowl!! it has stayed perfect, it is still easy to clean, and it still looks good as new - which is surprising. My previous rice cooker had a machine that still worked, but had a ton of scratches noticeable in the bowl and I was worried it would leak metals or coating into my rice, my friends warned me it could be bad, so I looked everywhere for a rice cooker with a bowl that would be healthy, would last and be made of stainless steel. IT WAS SO HARD TO FIND!! And some of the reviews on this one seemed like the bowl would burn and not last?? So I almost didn't give it a chance... but I decided to risk it. And I am glad I did! It's given me no problems. I like small appliances because I move a lot, and the size is great for me and my fiance. I sometimes use it to cook other things that are not rice (like soups - made a tomato peanut one once, SO GOOD with zuccini parmesan waffles yummmm - or quinoa), but mostly I do rice - basmati and calrose. Because I love making indian and japanese food. And it makes both perfecly well! I know sometimes there can be defective machines randomly and maybe I lucked out, but I've been so happy with this one. I recommend!
