Route 66 Then and Now®

This would be perfect if the print was not light in color and very tiny. I needed a magnifying glass. It would not be good for elderly relatives who you wish to gift it to for a walk back along their youthful memories. The photos are great, don’t get me wrong. I was expecting a coffee table book that was easy to view.

I like the book very much because my wife and I traveled a lot of Route 66 about 10+ years ago, and now I can re-live some of these destinations through this book by reading and looking at some of the pictures and the history behind some of them. I have enjoyed owning this book.

The book just arrived and I took a quick look before I give it to My Grand daughter's husband when I see theclan tomorrow. I am very impressed! Great photos and narratives combine to make this a very, very good read. I will probably order a copy for Myself after I return home Monday.

This book is nothing short of amazing. The history and attention to detail throughout is wonderful. I just got the book this afternoon and cannot put it down! Definitely a great conversation piece on a coffee table or just a great read for yourself! An adult picture book !

If you're a Route 66 lover, then this is another "must have" book. But I was somewhat disappointed that it really only focused on the motels along the road. A lot of the photos are copies of post cards or travel brochures. There were so many other attractions along Route 66 that would have been nice to have included. But what I think was most needed were maps. Joe gives the address of most of the motels, but it really would have been nice to see a map for each chapter showing exactly where along Route 66 the photos were taken. This would have made it more of a book you'd take along with you on your next trip exploring old Route 66 today.

My husband and I recently drove the entire route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica ---- We took many pictures - this book is a great way to remember some of the places we were able to see and some places we did not stop at.

I have the complete series from Illinois to California and some selected towns like where I live, Kingman AZ. Actually living on old Route 66 makes the series come alive and I've explored many places found in the books and photo documented them. They are a good read and the photos are good quality. I highly recommend the entire set if you are at all interested in the Mother Road.

This is a fantastic book on Route 66 then and now. Some fabulous photos. Having recently driven R66 from Chicago to Santa Monica this is a great reminder of our trip. Would thoroughly recommend.

Wow! Just Received that book today and looking very good. Can't Wait to give it to my brother for is Birthday. He is facinated about the 66 road. Also, I Received a credit for the delivery because of postal delay and that was very appreciated!
