Will I be able to use this over my closet rod (i.e., not garment rack)?

You might have to make a cut to fit it properly but since it’s in the closet it could work. It’s a nice big piece and the plastic seems pretty durable so it would make it easy to maneuver in the closets

I'm not sure, but it covers my garment rack nicely. The width of the rack is 6' and cover centered over the rack there is about 1 1/2' on each size. I hope this is helpful to you.
