Pure Protein Chocolate Deluxe Protein Bars – Reliable, No-Nonsense Protein Snack
I picked up these Pure Protein Chocolate Deluxe bars as an easy protein option for busy workdays and post-gym snacks. I’ve been eating them consistently for about two weeks, usually mid-morning at my desk or right after a workout when I don’t feel like mixing a shake. In real use, they do exactly what they’re supposed to do. The bar is filling enough to hold me over for a few hours, and the 20g of protein makes it feel functional rather than snacky. The chocolate flavor is straightforward and not overly sweet, which I appreciate since many protein bars taste like dessert. Texture is dense but manageable, especially if paired with coffee or water. Pros • High protein with only 3g sugar • Keeps me full and energized between meals • Chocolate flavor is mild and not artificial • Easy to throw in a bag or car Cons • Texture is a bit firm, especially in colder rooms • Chocolate taste is more subtle than indulgent Compared to softer, higher-sugar bars like Quest or ONE, these feel more practical and less like candy. Overall, this is a solid choice for people who want a dependable, low-sugar protein bar for work, travel, or gym days without unnecessary extras.

A decent change from the other flavors, but a little harder texture.
A decent change from the other pure protein bars. I've been getting the variety packs for years. They are not the greatest tasting on the market, but for half the price and 20g protein, it's my go to. The taste is good, but they have a harder texture than other brand cookies and cream. Still 5 star for the price.

Subjectively...the after taste is missing...which is a good thing.
I am on a special diet that requires me to intake 120g of protein a day. These bars help me get the amount I need. They are some of the best tasting ones in my opinion. They are packaged well, and the portions are sufficient. I am not a huge chocolate fan but I do love peanut butter. While these don't really have a big chocolate flavor, they also do not have the off putting taste a lot of items packed with protein do. The protein to calorie content is good at 20g protein to 190 calories. They are low in sugars and sugar alcohol making them a healthier choice than some of the others. I get them on a subscription. Pure Protein offers a pretty good selection of these type of bars, and many of them have good taste.

Chewy PB-choc heaven for snack attacks
These Pure Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter bars are my go-to snack between insurance calls and quick yoga sessions—packing 20g protein, just 190 calories, and only 3g sugar keeps me satisfied without spiking my energy. The chocolate coating melts like a Reese’s with real peanut butter flavor inside, chewy texture with crisp bits, and it’s gluten-free for easy grabs during Florida heat or fishing prep.

Good balance of flavor, cost and healthy macros
Tried so many protein bars. Hard to balance flavor against cost and macros. These are really tasty - and do not taste like other dry protein bars. They are moist enough and tasty. There is a good amount of fiber and protein, and an acceptable amount of carbs. And less calories than other brands I have tried. Tried a few flavors of this brand and this one I think is my favorite. the freshness is evident. This has now become my go-to brand.

Somewhat enjoyable, but way TOO sweet tasting
I was looking for an alternative to my usual QUEST brand Cookies & Cream protein bars, mainly to have an occasional second option. I mostly use these kind of protein bars in "a pinch" when I need to go out, but my blood sugar is too low, or I'm hungry & don't have the time to cook something before doing so. I'm not very big on 'eating out' on the road. I try to keep a pretty strict diet of sorts & wouldn't touch fast food with a ten foot pole if I was starving. So, in those cases these protein bars generally serve the 2 hours (slightly more or less) that I might need until I can get some actual nutritional food in me. As I stated, QUEST Cookies & Cream has been my 'go to' protein bar for some time. I tried a few of their other options/flavors, but for various reasons the ones I sampled didn't make the grade. When I finally found these PURE PROTEIN (lemon flavored) bars, I was pretty enthusiastic. They exceeded the calorie intake of the QUEST bars slightly (by 10 calories) & were only 1 gram less in protein. The carbs were less (by 6 grams, but these contain NO fiber, whereas the Quest has 13 grams) & the sugar of the PURE PROTIEN was only 1 gram more (with only 3 grams more of sugar alcohols). I thought "1 gram, more sugar and 3 grams more alcohols, how bad could that be!?" Well, it was actually pretty bad. Normally half a Quest bar is what I'll eat on the fly, keeping the other half in the wrapper with me if I need any ore. This (1/2 bar) is good for 1.5 - 2 hrs, for me. With the PURE PROTEIN bars I could only manage to eat 1/3 of the bar due to the excessive sweetness, in comparison to my normal bars and their sweetness in general. Now despite this the bars did suffice to keeping me free of any of the downsides that come with hunger for about 1 hour, or more, but I didn't carry the remaining 2/3 because the thought of having to eat any more really put me off. NOT that they taste "bad" because they don't. They are just too sweet for me. Due to this I can't speak with much confidence on the duration of time they would subside my hunger (@ 5'7 165-170lbs), but again 1/3 of a bar did maintain me for at least an 1 hour, give or take. Its a shame they are so sweet because I do enjoy them until that excessive sugar taste that burns the throat hits me. I should end with mentioning that, though the potassium, iron & calcium content in both bars is essentially ALMOST identical, the sodium content of the QUEST bars (cookies & cream) are 160 grams greater. Which could be a plus, or minus, depending on what the user is in need of. I had these on my subscribe & save, but have since removed them & the ones that remain in my refrigerator will probably stay there a while, but they will definitely be used by me in the future. Lastly, if you're storing your protein bars for any length of time REMEMBER some of these bars do contain oils & because of that they SHOULD BE REFRIGERATED. However, they do harden upon refrigeration so be prepared to remove them prior to consumption for 1-2 hrs (at least, if not 24 hrs) so they won't be so hard to chew. I can't say I would buy these again, but if you do have a sweet tooth they might "perfect" for you.

Pure protein birthday cake is a buy now
Highly recommend. Texture is stiff think cosmic brownie density. Not light and fluffy cake. But it’s a protein bar so you have to know what to expect. They are thick so drink beverage with. The flavor is on point. Carb and protein sugars all macros in check. I use on the P90x plan. They are sturdy don’t melt or freeze. Don’t upset my belly. Celiac GF. Also like: deluxe chocolate, cosmic brownies, cookies and cream, Avoid: zig zag cake. It has horrible after taste I can’t even place. Somewhere between chemical, rotten potato, fishy, metallic. Unpleasant.

Perfect way of increasing protein intake!
I have been having a difficult time eating enough protein. These Pure Protein bars have helped a lot and they taste great. Normally I would buy a few at Walmart, however I find these from Amazon on cost effective and work great for me. I have ordered these several times and they have been fresh.

I eat one of these bars after a cardio session and prior to a few hours of yardwork. I initially purchased the combination pack from Costco but didn’t eat the peanut bars and didn’t really like the plain chocolate ones. Settled on the chocolate chip and haven’t looked back. Sometimes they seem to be in short supply so I tend to order accordingly.
