A solid and sharp looking pencil.
I love the look of this pencil. It is comfortable in the hand. I would compare the feel to the Rotring 600. This pencil is similarly priced and it has a retractable point to boot to allow for a safe travel pencil. Overall a great product. Retro51 never seems to disappoint.

May be the nicest mechanical pencil out there!
Probably better than the Rotring 600 OR 800. Better knurling than the 600's sandpaper feel and better because it has a retractable tip. It's even better than the 800 as both have retractable tips but the Retro has ZERO movement and feels VERY solid. You can't make the same claim for the 800's somewhat jittery tip.And the Rotring Pro is below all of these as it has the red plastic "joiner" piece right in the middle of the pencil making it less sturdy and prone to failure. So it's currently the nicest pencil of the bunch - in my opinion of course.

Great Quality
One of my favourite mechanical pencils. I own the rotring 600, rotring 800, Kaweco special brass and legendär brass mechanical pencils (all within similar price ranges or higher) and this Retro 51 Hexomatic is definitely a stand out. Haven't had any issues with graphite breaking or sliding (I use 2B graphite). Feels great in the hand. Really satisfying to write with. Feels like it's really well made and will last. Honestly want to buy another.

Nice pencil, paint coverage too light
Good all-metal heft, comfortable in the hand, sturdy construction. Reminds me of my old Rotring. My only complaint is that the color I bought (yellow) isn't as vibrant as depicted in the picture here, or on the Retro51 website. As a matter of fact, the yellow coverage on the knurled grip section is too light, which gives the pencil a slight two-toned yellow and yellow-grey look. Otherwise it's fine.

Workmanship
It has a great feel to it as well as looking very cool, and it works very well too,it is the best mechanical pencil i have used.

Very close to Rotring 600
Slightly lighter weight than a Rotring 600, but still comparable. Plastic insides but I don't think that should affect durability. The lead jam clearing pin stuck in the bottom of the eraser is a nice touch, but once you change erasers, if you ever do, you'll have to transfer that pin.The knurling on this is much closer--nearly identical--to the Rotring 600 than that on the TWSBI. I prefer the look and feel of this over the TWSBI but the Rotring 600 is still the clear winner over all three.Nevertheless, this pencil meets my need of having a Rotring 600 with a retractable point.Compared to the Pentel Graphgear 1000, this pencil seems much sturdier and certainly more traditional. I find the grip on the Graphgear 1000 to wobble perceptively which detracts from my enjoyment of using that pencil.

Consider the inexpensive plastic barrel pencils
After a number of months of usage, I am fed up with this pencil. As stated in one other review, the lead slides up consistency while writing. I have tried to lighten up on the amount of pressure used and have tired every 0.7mm lead product on the market with no luck. Not worth the money spent and I wish I have returned it before my time ran out.
