Can you program each remote to different tones from each other?** A: Yes each remote can have different sounds **Q: Is there a doorbell or device that can change the sounds from the remote itself??** A: I'm not sure I understand your question. There are two (well three actually) parts to this doorbell (2 bells that go outside your home, one on the front door and one on the back door if you want to use both. You don't have to use both if you don't want to....and then there's the remote that gets plugged into an outlet inside your home. The remote has about 50 different sounds (rings, noises and tunes) which you can program on the remote (more choices than I will ever need). If you do use both doorbells they can each be programmed for a different sound or tune so that if one is on your front door and one on your back door, you'll know by the sound which door your caller is at. I only use one doorbell. It was pretty easy to set up once I removed the plastic tab that covered the battery (they don't mention that in the instructions). I spent allot of time trying to program it but it won't work until that plastic tab is removed that covers the battery. All in all I am pleased with this purchase and it works nicely....loud and clear. **Q: I need 2 simple tones,1 for each door. Are these tones in the beginning of choices or scattered throughout the list i would hate scaning through all ?** A: If I remember correctly (and sometimes I don't), the tones are into group types. First was the simple everyday tones, then noises (like a dog barking) and then melodies I'm not sure of the order they are in. I did listen to all of them because it was fun and I wanted to hear them all so I could select the two I liked best.
