Didn't work as well as expected
I bought this OBD scanner to help me resolve a non starting issue with our 1999 SLK 230 R170 I asked a question here if it worked with the SLK and had or saw 2 customer responses to say it did, but because they were from customers, I also went onto some suppliers sites and again got some positive feedback for using it with our SLK. First issue was that it needs a red 38pin iCarSoft adaptor which wasn't mentioned here, but luckily it was mentioned on a suppliers site. My main gripe, is that when my mechanic used his Launch OBD reader, it pulled through a lot of error codes which included a very important one that indicated a fault in the driver authorization system and probably the cause for the non start issue. The iCarsoft CR Pro did not pull this error code through and instead it only pulled a number of historical codes. I plan to take this up with iCarsoft but as I've used the scanner I doubt I will get my money back I think what I'm saying is, please DO NOT provide answers to questions unless you know the correct answer. £275 is a lot of money to spend on the wrong tool Edit - following this initial review iCarsoft worked with me and enabled the reader to function with our SLK and pick up the codes I had expected it to, so I have moved up to 4 stars. So, if you find the same, don't just give in, contact the makers! Trev

Hard to get money back
Just do not buy, not working so sent back, over two weeks and STILL no refund, at this high price that's a lot of money to wait for.

Owning a Chevrolet, Porsche and Toyota I was looking for something that could work with all three. I wanted to perform routine maintenance like reseting service lights and read codes for occasional repairs. While doing research I stumbled on the iCarsoft CR Pro and decided to take a chance. Glad I did. Have been able to read Engine, Drivetrain and Body status with no problems. ABS, active suspension, steering wheel sensors, door locks, transmission sensors, HVAC temp sensors pretty much anything I tried to find I could not only read but check live data on and reset. Capture of codes is simple too. Data can be easily saved to the microSD card for reference later. Really fantastic tool for the money. Lookup for codes is pretty accurate considering the variety of cars I have. Overall I am really pleased with the unit. One thing surprised me, the tool does not have a battery. Most readers have a small 9v or a few AA batteries that power them. This one uses an external power source via USB cable. That means you connect the OBD cable to the vehicle and then connect a mini-USB cable to the tool then plug that in somewhere to provide power. In the case of my Toyota there was no USB power port to connect to. You can power from a 12V lighter port with an adapter or use a portable USB battery. I decided to use a portable battery pack and have no problems with it.
