Months into this full time catheter journey with my husband, could not live without these Ugo cath valves. He gets his medical from the VA but so far they have not even heard of these. I think they are looking into it though. They have operated perfectly, no leaks, easy for someone with Parkinson’s to handle themselves. It easily connects to the over night bag/bottle to let us sleep! Best of all, he hasn’t experienced one UTI since using this product. Appears to promote bladder health by allowing intermittent drainage during the day.Always delivered quickly from Amazon. A little pricey but some things in life ( quality of life) one can’t compromise. Other reviewers have commented on other brands, some negatively, but we have no intention of experimenting with any other type or brand.

Best flip valve I've used. Most valves require significant pressure to move the lever at every point in the arc of their travel. Not so for this valve. The first 35-degrees or so of movement, whether opening or closing the valve presents almost no resistance -- only in the middle of its movement, does it require the force that other valves require throughout the whole arc of their movement. If you're a man, this makes it possible to open the valve one-handed, making you look normal as you stand at a urinal, not like a goof who's fussing around too much. Just the best valve out there, but expensive.

This is a quality product and well made, like all UGO products. The LEVER should be reengineered so that it has a positive detent that allows it (the LEVER) to lock in either the ON or OFF position.

It is my opinion that this is the best brand of flip flow valve on the market for people who use catheters, whether they are urethral or suprapubic catheters. They are easy to install, we never had a mishap with them, and they provide for a seamless transition between bag or staying closed until needing to void. I only wish they were a little less expensive, but the quality is worth the additional cost.

So glad we found this product. My guy has had a catheter for 5 months. He is 88 and may have a catheter for the rest of his life. He has short legs and the leg bag just did not work for him. We were surprised that his Urologist did not know about catheter valves but when we asked him about it, he said that it sounded like a good idea and approved of our giving it a try. Who wouldn’t rather use their own bladder rather than carrying their urine around in an external bag? My partner is now going to lunch with his friends, playing bocce ball and wearing Bermuda shorts. All things he was reluctant to do while wearing a leg bag. Strongly recommend this product. We have been using it daily for five weeks without any problems.

Purchased for my elderly dad. Works so well for him. No more odors and trying to secure foley bags to his legs. His urologist gave his approval to use too. Will be buying these on a consistent basis.

These are very similar to the Bard brand valves. I really like them. I had been using the Bard brand but saved a few bucks by trying these in a box of five. They are a little bit smaller than the Bard. The work the same way. Valves are supposed to be changed every 7 days - I am on my second valve of the box of five. I have had no issues or problems to report - they are working exactly as they should.One thing that I thought was very nice was the packaging materials that were included in the box! I have been living with a SP Tube catheter for almost nine months now. Had some of the instruction provided with these valves been presented to me 9 months ago - I would likely have had much less UTI's!! There were never ANY instructions provided with the Bard brand (or my doctors).IF you find yourself in a position where you are going to have to live with a catheter (SPT or Foley) for a long period of time - these valves will make your life easier - providing you are like me and do NOT like wearing a urine bag all day!! These replace the urine collection bag - fit right on the end of your catheter. This allows you to go to the bathroom or urinal and void in an almost normal fashion. This also allows you to keep those pelvic and bladder muscles working :)
