Product Description Evans HD (Heavy Duty) Dry snare heads balance durability and sonic response with advanced overtone control provided by precision-drilled dry vents. HD Dry heads are made with a coated outer ply of 5mil film and an inner ply of 7.5mil film, plus a 2mil control ring on the underside of the head and dry vents around the perimeter to eliminate stray overtones. HD Dry heads have a semi-defined attack, with short sustain and a bit less brightness than standard HD heads. All Evans drumheads are designed, engineered, and manufactured in the USA and feature Level 360 Technology to provide ease of tuning, extended pitch range, and optimum sound quality. From the Manufacturer Evans 14" Genera Dry single-ply snare head produces a warm tone with a fat and focused attack and minimal sustain. The Dry version features small vent holes around the edge that eliminate stray harmonics and tighten the sound.Evans Genera HD Snare heads feature two plies of film. An outer ply of 5mil film and an inner ply of 7.5mil film, in combination with a 2mil overtone control ring on the underside that "floats" with the head, eliminating excessive overtones and controlling sustain.For over 40 years, Evans has been a pioneer of drum head manufacturing and design.
