Warm, comfortable fleece by Berghaus
The fleece is well made and has good functionality – a zippered chest pocket, ideal for a large smart phone, and two hand warmer pockets which will take a folded OS map.There is a cinched draw cord on the hem to keep cold air out and the Polartec Thermal Pro material is warm and comfortable: it looks to be resistant to pilling. The neck on the jacket is high and cosy to wear when zipped right upThere is a long panel behind the main full length zip to keep out draughtsI am 5’10” with a 46" chest and ordered XL as per the Berghaus fitting guide – a perfect fit, with just a little extra room to spare. The sleeves are a little long on me by about an inch or two, but keep the back of my hands warm. They can easily be folded if neededThe fleece can be zipped into a Berghaus shell jacket using their InterActive (IA) system and has two loops near the wrist to attach to the jacket to prevent the sleeves from riding up when wornThe navy version which I ordered, is a nice dark blue and is quite smart. Perfect fleece
I'm so pleased with this fleece from Berghaus. I got it because about five years ago I picked up a Berghaus polartec fleece in a charity shop, pretty much the same as this. I wore it for work pretty solidly for winter, autumn and the start of spring and it was still going strong until it got accidentally damaged getting caught in something. I was so impressed with he quality, fit and warmth of it that I just had to get this the newer version. And I'm glad I did.It's well fitting, cut well and looks as stylish as a fleece could look.It's very warm and does a good job at blocking wind chill.It zips up up to my chin and the sleeves are tight enough to prevent draughts.The breast pocket, (an essential requirement for me and not that popular in full zip fleeces) stores my big phone (Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra in an Otterbox Defender tough case) perfectly well.It washes really well and the nice fleece texture doesn't bobble and it's still very dark black.I like the details too like the logo placements and the embossed logo on the zip pulls.Overall an excellent quality fleece that I'm glad I got.

Go to mid-layer Polartec fleece from Berghaus.Perfect under a waterproof shell for robust protection from the cold British winters.Excellent as casual wear for the pub or avoiding putting the heating on around the house.

Berghaus Activity IA Jacket
I had already owned one of these jackets a few years ago & it lasted me a long time for everyday usage.. very nice soft fleece material,which is anti-pill (non bobble).. a nice handy deep chest pocket for a phone,keys,cards etc.. I take the medium size and it's a good fit,not too tight.. high quality YKK zips and waist adjustment cords with a high snug collar.. an excellent,warm fleece jacket for everyday use between September to May.. too warm for summer use unless we have cold,windy days..Would highly recommend.
