Built to last
I have had this same model for 20 years. I just now had to replace it because my better half accidently pour water into the bean bin, thinking it was the coffee pot. I love this item and you will too. It's absolutely awesome. You cannot go wrong with the grinder. It's truly durable and will almost last forever.

Very Good Results... Mostly: 5 out of 6 points isn't bad!
This is our fourth and latest grinder over the last 15 years. All were manufactured by different major companies. In many ways, this Capressso is the best so far:1) VERY nice, consistent grind which is easy to adjust2) Very easy to operate, disassemble and clean3) The grind procedure is fast. Note: Directions state grinding should be limited to 3 minutes at a time. That is not practical for us, so I did 1/2 of a bag (12 minutes), no heat problem. I allowed the Capresso to sit for 20 minutes, then finished the bag's contents. Again, no problem or obvious heating of the Capresso noted.4) The Capresso is more thoughtfully designed than others we have used. The conical burrs appear to be well designed, bean feed was smooth and maintenance of the grind chamber is pretty easy. We use a dark roast that is rather oily and we had no issues with clogging.5) Quiet operation with very minimal vibration6) THE ONE NEGATIVE...From the first 12 cup grind, this unit generated MORE STATIC than any unit I have experienced! The clinging coffee grounds became a problem reinserting the ground coffee container and that area had to be cleaned repeatedly during the grind. also, fair amounts of ground coffee were stuck inside the grind container making emptying messy. Our counter top and the machine were covered with errant coffee particles by the time I finished. I am glad we grind in quantity: I can't imagine going through that mess every day.

Good Grinder - Updated 10/11/22
Capresso Infinity Plus(Silver) Model 575 05Received on 2/20/21 - using Daily- Hopper & Grounds (plastic) Container fit perfectly into respective locations (good, parts quality control)- Hopper easily rotates for grind setting and easily removable (& inserted) when following Instructions- Grounds Container’s top & sides a perfect fit (good, parts quality control)- Grinding begins immediately upon turning Timer (to desired setting)- Mechanically, Timer works well; easy adaptation to its operation- Post-grinding: grounds (for my measure) do not find their way out of the Container, but are wholly captured inside (good, parts quality control)- Static inside Grounds Container, after grinding, can be mitigated when removing (Hint: tap Container’s side immediately after slowly withdrawing)- Upper & Lower Burrs: appear well made, but daily cleaning will be required (as with all burr grinders) for long term, consistent grinding- ** Soft Collar (on Upper Burr) does not appear purchasable as a replacement part (it is not shown at Capresso’s web site & no mention in User Instructions)- Soft Collar, which is to be in place (guides beans to Lower Burr chamber), simply slips around (using tension) the top-edge of Upper Burr; vulnerable to tearing or stretching (if badly or continually removed)- softness of this Collar is no doubt, designed to gently guide beans[if a Collar is critical to feeding beans to Lower Burrs & can not (ever) be purchased as a replaceable part, a different, collar design might have been better option, avoiding being rendered unusable. But that doesn't help those of us who now own this model Capresso, which has the Soft Collar.]- Best to avoid any Soft Collar handling (as shown in Instructions) or removing- Silver Model 575 05 weighs 8+ pounds- Weight & Size a factor for cleaning Grind Chamber (removing Upper Burr; see Fig. 6 in User Guide); for some, possible issue since man-handling Grinder’s base (holding upside down) is unwieldy. (Hint: carefully use a small hand-vacuum, after brushing grinds loose, to suck out the remnants as well as any in the Feeder channel)The Capresso Infinity Plus Model 575 05, is well made; manufacturing quality control exceeded expectation for this consumer model; easy operation; and grinding results have been very good & consistent and exceeded expectationI like this Model grinder, I am glad to be using, and most importantly, I am happy with the grinding results.UPDATED 3/31/21- 4 (solid) stars: well made, good engineering quality-control & easy operability & very good grinding resultsRating Note: This Capresso 575 05 model could reasonably deserve a 5 star rating; however in order to gain the 5th star, long term reliability will be the benchmark, which can only be judged after a year's use.- Cautionary Note: As a product sold for daily use, which requires daily cleaning (consistent with all burr grinders), & involves removing Upper Burr to clean both the Upper & Lower Burrs. This Soft Collar could easily be rendered unusable. [I was aware prior to my purchase.] Or as regular use continues, the soft material will age and may become less pliable (so, more prone to cracking).Note to Retailers: Upper Burr’s Soft Collar should be purchasable as a replacement partNote to Capresso: 1 Extra Soft Collar should be in the Box, when purchased New from any Retailer3/31/21 Comment: I am now less concerned about vulnerability of the Soft Collar, given my cleaning routine does not include removing the Soft Collar.- There are 2 prongs on the Upper Burrs element which enable grasping this element (to lift) without handling the Soft Collar.- However, this does not change the possibility that some inadvertent action could occur which would damage the Soft Collar and necessitate purchasing a replacement. ...As result, I reiterate my Notes (above) to the Retailer & Capresso.Updated 10/11/22 - changed rating to 5 Stars. Has fulfilled my hope for great grinding & reliability. Note: attribute latter to daily cleaning of grind port & grind burrs. Highly recommend.

Excellent for all but Turkish coffee grind. For Turkish, it's workable. See review.
I got this because it said it can grind small enough for Turkish coffee. That is true. But, it takes a while. At the Turkish coffee setting, I think the burrs have a harder time grabbing onto the bean. So they bounce around in there, sometimes with nothing happening. At first, my trick was to temporarily open up the grind size to the next higher one or two settings, and then it grabs the beans and we're back in business. Even at that next higher setting, it is really okay for Turkish coffee. But I wanted the finest grind. So I figured out I could first place the beans in my mortal and pestle and just crush them first into small pieces. Yes, it's one extra step, but it's faster than putting whole beans into the grinder on the finest setting. This did the trick for me, and I could grind about 20 g of beans in about three minutes. It does grind it extremely fine. I think it's finer than flour.I mention three minutes because that is the maximum recommended run time before letting the machine cool down for a bit. The manual recommends this so the heat of the machine does not affect coffee flavor. If you are doing espresso size, none of what I mentioned above is a concern. It will do espresso grind with no problems. It seems to be a very well built machine. Other than the issue with Turkish grind, it is easy to use. For cleaning, they give you a little brush to rub around the burrs and there is a little exit port you push the unused grinds through. You can get most of the grinds out, but some seem to gather in the seams. No big deal.I docked one point because it has a harder time grabbing the beans for Turkish grind. If I was using this for espresso I probably would have given it five stars.

Great grind quality and easy to use. Robust construction.
This was a replacement for a similar Capresso grinder purchased in 2006. They are nearly identical. The newer one is much quieter and the switch seems better quality. I had only minor problems with the original which I had repaired myself. The grind quality is very good from this machine and, obviously, I expect it to provide years of service.
