Sweet, informative and well drawn. I love her works.
If you like her other titles, please give this one a shot! A frank, heart warming and beautiful coming of age story.

funny and moving autobio
I love reading about people in the creative industry, so it was a no-brainer to pick up this autobio manga even though I've never read any of the artist's work (to my shame-- I keep meaning to!) Even though I only have a cursory familiarity with Akiko Higashimura, I really enjoyed it. She's famous for her incredible output and this first volume is largely about the origin of that work ethic. She tells her story with a lot of self-deprecating humor and charm. I think any creative person who's ever had big dreams will relate a lot to her. Even if you aren't a creative, the story-telling is funny and surprisingly moving. I found myself touched at several points. Highly recommended.

Loved It
I love Princess Jellyfish and autobiographical comics and this one was awesome. She has such an unexpected origin story, with that art teacher/mentor she had! I can't wait to read the next volume.
