The Medication Fact Book for Psychiatric Practice

Nothing special?
Having the Carlat name on it, I expected big things from this book. I was disappointed. While the information is good, the layout of the book is awkward!!! The book is too large in size to be so thin. Then, the binding is to close the margin, so it makes it cumbersome to read comfortably, without pressing the book open and creasing it. This book should have been around 8x5" and twice as thick. Information-wise, I was looking for something a little more condensed than the Stahl's prescriber's guide, and a little more user-friendly than The Clinical Handbook of Psychotropic Drugs. The information in this book meets both of those criteria and is very succinct. However, because of the awkward sizing and page layout, I will probably return it, which is a shame.

Great reference for psychopharm prescribers
I love love love this book. Such a handy reference! Direct, to-the-point, and easy to read. I like it more than the Stahl prescriber's guide.

VERY USEFUL BOOK - BY NONE OTHER THAT DR CARLAT & A CLINICAL PHARMACIST
Very user friendly 1-page med info (includes mechanisms of actions). The writing is in a larger print (a beauty ;--) as this is a full size book, not pocket size - it is an excellent addition to any healthcare provider library; there is also info on a few conditions like bruxism, etc., and treatment options - which is very helpful. Full five starts -

Great resource!
Previous reviews describe it very well. I would add that I had it spiral bound for about $5 at Office Max which allows the book to lay flat. Love it!
