Works just fine for deadlifting
I bought this chalk nearly three years ago and just crumbled the last block into my bag at the gym. It's now inexplicably 50-70% more expensive than it was back then, so I ordered a different brand via Amazon for replacement stock. You can't carry a block of this to the gym and chalk your hands directly with it. It will break and crumble. I crumble a block or two into a big Ziploc bag, into which I can dip both my hands, and chalk up that way, which works well, is fairly tidy, and lasts a long time based on my use.Other commenters have complained that this chalk is insufficient for rock climbing. Perhaps you need something a bit more resin-y for that. I don't know. I can tell you, however, that it is perfect for barbell lifting. I don't need a heavy layer of it on my hands, just a thorough dusting, quickly working it in like hand lotion. It's a light powder when you crumble it, like talc, very dry, which is what you want it to be.I use it when I deadlift heavy once a week (started using it at 275 when I was a novice deadlifter.) I also use it when I do heavy trap bar Farmer's Carries (430 lbs these days) once a week, and when I'm overhead pressing heavy and sweating a lot (usually only 3-4 months over summer, as the gym is cool enough the rest of the year that I get a solid heavy press grip without it.)I don't use straps when I lift. I deadlift using a hook grip, so this chalk is my major lifting aid. Am very happy with it. It's easy to crumble and I like carrying it in the Ziploc bag, breaking it out when I need it. I've never had a grip problem while using it. Not once. In fact, I never give a second thought to my grip when I'm using it, which is a sure sign it works well.

Literally the best Gym Chalk
The softest fluffiest gym chalk EVER!! I have purchased soo many other brands and not a single one was like this one! This is literally THE BEST!! I use it for asmr gym chalk crushing!! Can’t wait to see how it reforms. I’m literally never buying any other brand of chalk that isn’t BSN!!!Update: They have obviously changed the formula & now this is the hardest chalk you could ever purchase! Do not buy as this is not the usual BSN! I am so disappointed & hate that I wasted my money this time. The chalk was like BRICK!!! I am not buying again until it is confirmed they are back using their usual soft buttery chalk formula!!! Smh

Very hard
BSN is usually so soft and buttery to crush but the 2 boxes I bought were rock hard. Very disappointing.Update. Same thing happened again. I can no longer buy this product. It’s too unpredictable and too costly.

Gym Chalk
This is the first time I've purchased gym chalk and also the first time I've used it. I started getting to the point where the sweat on my hands were keeping me from being able to finish all my reps, so I tried baby powder just to see how that worked. It worked okay however it gave my hands a 'soft' feel to them, making my grip seem weak. I read the reviews for this product and saw others have tried baby powder as well and stated this gym chalk is way better so I ordered it. The first time I used it I was shocked at how much more gripping strength I had with this. It keeps your hand from sweating much and it somehow makes your grip almost twice as good as your bare hands. I also have a nice pair of weight lifting gloves, and this chalk is even way better than that. I was not only able to complete all of my reps for each set, I was also able to increase the amount of weight I use for everything I do thanks to the better grip. The chalk comes in little blocks. I put mine in a bucket and used the end of a screw driver handle to smash it into powder. This chalk is extremely soft and brittle which makes it very easy to mash it up to a powder to use. If you spend money on supplements or anything like that to help 'increase' performance to get you further, or past a little bump in the road, this product could seriously help with that. The price of this gym chalk compared to what it does for you is amazing.

Good gym chalk
Good gym chalk. Was $12 a pound when I got it. Idk how there are so many reviews saying this is a lot of chalk. It's a decent amount. Probably last 4 to 6 months with regular use. Maybe my palms are abnormally sweaty. & I am in the high humidity of the deep south-east. It's definitely not as grippy as the really expensive stuff and it wears off your hands faster in my opinion. But who wants to pay $30 or more for 1/2 pound? Those are just my initial thoughts - no proof on this. I can climb the same routes with either chalkProbably burned 2oz to 4oz in a week of rock climbing with a partner. Climbing about 4hours a day. But I like chalky hands not just finger tips.Comes in 8x 2oz bricks. 3x bricks crushed would fill 1/2 a gallon sized ziplock bag.1/2 a 2oz brick would easy fill a standard climbing chalk bag - up to a mark where you won't spill it (ie: 1/3 full. or 2/3 distance from top of bag).Personally wouldn't buy more than a pound at a time. Not sure if it ever goes bad as it's never happened to me... but with 98F during the day and 98% humidity 24/7.... Not a fan of pushing the shelf life on anything. Hope that gives you a good picture of the amount and kind of chalk.
